I don't get those who complain about skill level. Give me a 1 point thriller like today over an easy win 'skillful' game any day. There was a lot of pressure out there today too, Collingwood seemed to dominate everything and it's still only 1 point... this Bombers side has certainly developed some ticker over the last year and a bit.

As much as every team would love to play on Anzac day, I'm probably in the minority of fans of other teams that are quite happy to have these two keep battling out. Hate both of them but still always look forward to the game.

Close game doesn't necessarily make a good game. Was painful to watch. So many errors.
Thank goodness for Dane Swan to at least lead the way in 'watchability'.

A Richmond supporter complaining about errors and pain watching a game...haven't you had that for 32 years :)

I'm pretty sure he's complained about us too.

thanks pal, well said :thumbsu:

people so easily confuse "close game" with "good/great game."

was today a good, thrilling finish? absolutely.

was it a great game? hell no. it was balls ugly, and had it had been two lesser clubs on any given saturday, we'd all have forgotten it in 2 weeks.

fremantle vs geelong is still the best match of the season with daylight second. i doubt today was even in the top 5 of this seasons great games.

What a great day. Gutted at the result but still take a great memory away from the game, doest get much better than a packed MCG, with the rain hosing down like it was in the 3rd and scores tight. Magnificent.

Well done to Collingwood, until we develop (or buy) a player of Swans ability its going to be hard for us to really jump the next step yet. He was the complete match winner today, unstoppable.

I know I'll get lambasted for saying this, but the way it was umpired today was one of the reasons for the fantastic contest. Credit to the umpires for (the majority of the time anyway) adjudicating to the laws of the game.

I actually thought it was poorly adjudicated all game?

No difference to the result because to be fair, Collingwood were far better all game, and decisions were equally poor both ways, just interested to hear why u thought it was so good?

There's a healthy respect between Magpie and Bomber supporters that iv'e noticed over the last decade. I think Anzac day has something to do with it. We tend to get along ok even after a close game like today. Bomber supporters are also tolerable at the footy.
It's those farqing Blues we can't stand!

Yep I really enjoyed the game today-found it thoroughly engrossing, very competitive. Both sides look like there is more to look forward to as well.

****ing fantastic game, and you know what, after it finished I just wanted to see more football. Then comes a tweet from Warren Tredrea suggesting there should be a night match after the Collingwood v Essendon game rotating each year between SA, WA, QLD and NSW. I thought it was a brilliant idea. Obviously wouldn't matter for ANZAC days that fall on Saturday's however. There is also talk of an ANZAC Day match in NZ next year to be shown before Coll v Ess. Triple header on the cards? ;)
