I know its away off but Im horned up about what looms as a four- way battle for Club Champion.

Roos gone Goodwin looks the goods but may be unsettled with his new forward role. Im not suggesting he'll play there all year but he can mix it up down there like Ricciuto and could be a master stroke come the years end.

I'd love Tyson BRIDESMAID Edwards to win it more than anyone but maybe he wll see reduced game time to rest his ageing frame?

McLeod may win it as AFC quarterback.

That leaves a host of possibles such as Bock,vB, Reilly,Thompson and even Porps as Jars suggested last night.

Nows the time to get the crystal ball out:D and poll away so I can put it in the vault;)

Obviously bloody hard to predict. But for the hell of it I'll throw in my predictions.

1. Scott Thompson
2. Andrew McLeod
3. Brent Reilly
4. Jason Porplyzia
5. Nathan Bock (as long as he is at CHB ;))

My vote is thompson.

My other vote goes to people who stop using the term Quarterback for a position someone plays in Aussie Rules.

My top 3 in order:

Knights to get the yellow jacket.

Thompson to be the unlucky runner-up in a close finish.

Bock to be 3rd based on a consistent AA winning season at CHB.

What he said. :thumbsu:

I've gone Porplyzia, I just think if he can get a good amount of time in the middle, despite any fitness short falls, he is such a smooth mover with silky skills that he will carve teams up.

I also see Nathan Bock being right up there, AA CHB most definitely.

I don't think edwards has dropped out of the top 5 since probably before he started playing for us, and has more 2nds than Roo has AA selections:D he ain't gonna go away quietly, maybe this is his year.

Macca, well, you gotta have him up there, won everything bar the brownlow that was stolen by the umps and Aker(or Black) hopefully this year.

Goody will always be there, although spending a bit of time up forward will probably make it tougher, will be our leading goal-kicker I think.

Reilly will also push if he can keep out on the park, Rutten, Thommo, VB, Knights will all be up there as well.

Going to be a very interesting year in this respect, most definitely!

It was stolen by Aker and I believe Kevin Rudd is apologising about that tomorrow.

I cant poll for some reason..

But my top 3 would be
1. Brent Reilly just ahead of
2. Scott Thompson then
3. Simon Goodwin

I've voted for Thompson in the poll, but still think it's way too early to make predictions after a one-sided NAB cup game. Who knows what will happen in terms of injury and eventual positions.

Amazing when you think about it that just 4 guys have shared the last 11 B&Fs. It would be nice to see somebody new take it out although you couldn't begrudge any of the club legends winning it if their form was good enough. Personally I'd love to see Thommo win it, or a guy like Bocky.

Just looking through the top 10 in the club champion over our history and something stood out to me. How's this for a record of finishes:

1997: 1: Andrew McLeod
1998: 3: Andrew McLeod
1999: 2: Andrew McLeod
2000: 2: Andrew McLeod
2001: 1: Andrew McLeod
2002: 6: Andrew McLeod
2003: 3: Andrew McLeod
2004: 4: Andrew McLeod
2005: 4: Andrew McLeod
2006: 4: Andrew McLeod
2007: 1: Andrew McLeod

Is it possible that this guy doesn't get as much credit as he deserves? I know a lot of people will rate Roo as the greatest player to represent the club but there's not much, if anything between these two IMO.

Amazing effort, by macca, to stay in the top 6 for the past 10 years is something special, probably doesn't get the credit, is definitely right up there with Roo, I guess more recently has taken more or a back seat, team role, playing, whilst maybe not quite at the pack clearing, game breaking level he did in his younger years, but a more consistent game, performing week in week out.

In terms of consistently staying up there, every year in a row, Edwards is really the only one who competes(from 2000: 4,7,2,2,3,5,2,4 also came in at 10 in 95), with Roo and Goodwin being struck down by injuries in various years, preventing them staying up there.

Yeah cos thats the only game the crows have ever played.

I voted for Reilly
