Another 4 snags for The Weid!
Yep no rush at this stage which is a great luxury to haveIt's really pleasing to see him play well early on, even if it's mainly been when we're having big wins.
I'm happy for him to stay there and build, I have trust in the club now to blood players at the right time.
MFC employed Plapp to coach at Casey to make sure the game style aligned. Better for development all round.Played a game probably similar to Melbourne lots of running
Yep. We struggled with it a bit last week though lolMFC employed Plapp to coach at Casey to make sure the game style aligned. Better for development all round.
He's not THAT slim mateWeideman is still quite slim.
I'd be happy for us to wait and debut him in a couple of games next year.
Realistically, he's 3 or 4 preseasons away from having an AFL body.
He's not THAT slim mate
I'm aware. But I'm going to take the judgement of someone who works on his body on a regular basisIt takes a long time for skinny KPPs to get an AFL body. They aren't all built like Hogan.
I have no expectations on him for this year or next, other than the hope he will be working hard and earn a couple of token games for the sake of experience.

Darcy Moore does alright despite being a rake, size isn't the be all end all.It takes a long time for skinny KPPs to get an AFL body. They aren't all built like Hogan.

So when does Roosy partake in the Weid? Similar to O-Mac last year maybe, last 2 games?
As ridiculous as this sounds, probably depends if we are still a chance for finals then. It'll be interesting to see if his form warrants a game in the latter third of the season (ie; completely dominating VFL ~5 goals a game) if Pederson gets injured or badly out of form.

I think the point was more that darcy Moore is about weids size, and is already playing so weids is in no way 3 or 4 years offI reckon Collingwood would rather have competent senior tall forwards with Moore developing in the VFL though. Think he's only played as much AFL as he has through necessity. We're in a very fortunate position where Weideman can learn his trade, by and large, away from the public eye and can debut when he's ready which I think will be late season and only for a couple of games.
