I'm sorry. I stand corrected. For 50 odd years I've beem labouring under the misconception that a draw was worth 2 pts and was indeed half a win. I know better now

You did say it was all about the cattle did you not? You did not mention anything on development, it looked like you were suggesting that it's cattle only - that's how I come to that conclusion

But surely you would think any one with half a brain knows that any player at 17 is going to need developing eg the fitness levels, the physical strength, game plan, structures etc etc.
Probably a problem for us all in using the written word that we can take something the wrong way and if I have to your posts I apologies. I saw that post and I took it as just cheap points scoring but acknowledge can be sometimes read a certain way. As a rule have enjoyed the debate with you as I feel you are way more objective in the "get rid of Bucks" camp than some in that club.

Funny some of these probuckleynites.. I am so anti Buckley yet I will always say when he coaches well.. these probuckleynites have thought of every excuse in the friggin universe to deflect attention away from the bourgeois..

A compilation of excuses to keep Buckley on.. would be an absolutely brilliant read. Id buy the book for sure.

I don't understand how the club in their right friggin mind can keep us supporters in limbo for so long. An unpublished comment from a reporter who is employed through the AFL site mainly to cover Collingwood. Don't want to name names as it's not official and after the Ross Lyon debacle I dare say no one reporter wants to go public with it either.

It's funny. I'm starting to read the tea leaves as pointing the other way.
It would be easy for Ed, if the last half of the season was a train wreck or a complete success he'd have an easy decision. That's what he'd prefer. I read his statements as having a bob each way and ultimtely Ed will do what's right for Ed. Collingwood doesn't enter into the equation. I think he'll throw Buckley over the side to appease the masses.

Ed 19 years at the helm with 1 premiership to show for it.. gotta hand it to him. Side by side for 19 yrs Ed and you're still playing these ridiculous Buckley games with us.. bad enough you appointed him in the first place. The nerve really.

You can pretty much sum up the pro Buckley argument as follows:

He had better players
He had better assistant coaches
All the players hit their targets
All the players kicked straight
If the fans stopped questioning his position

One thing is for sure and that's that Buckley is in no way responsible for our current demise.

Some people might laugh at this, but a strong indication of a player, or this case coach, is what our opposition think.

Most opposition supporters are laughing their arses off praying Buckley gets re-signed.

They hated him as a player as he was bloody good. They all love him as a coach because they know he is crap.

We wanting to re-invigorate the joint with a new head coach are purely dealing in the facts of the situation, as opposed to the other side which deal in a fantasy-style world of excuses, what-ifs & shoulda-couldas.

Its really bizarre, but it appears he'll be (wrongly) re-appointed for 2018, and we'll spend another year out of the top 8.

Just on that last bit, we're a middle of the road side and therefore finals next year are a 50/50 proposition IMO, Buckley or not.

But Buckley has a multitude of obvious shortcomings to take us any further than simply scraping into the 8.
