Or they just didn’t rate Evans/Banfield that highly.

I’d rather have had at a look at Banfield than continue to pay Barnett or have Cripps senior list not rookie list.

But I just don’t see why people let shit like this derail their headspace relating to our draft.

Realistically was Banfield going to be any better than say Dev? I get that he was a father/son but when you take the romanticism away of that, I'm not sure if he was going to project as a consistent AFL quality mid. I may be completely wrong though.

I actually think with his rate of recent improvement he definitely couldve contributed

no, I think you are missing the mark. they went who they believed was the best. not because of what BF crowd will think. is that really complicated for you to understand?

I already said it's about not having the list spots, not about who we rated higher.
I accept that we rated other players higher (correctly or incorrectly) but we should have had cleared extra main list spots just like many other teams did.

I really have no opinions on whether we took Banfield or not, he was always projected as a very late/rookie list spot player.

My 'soft melts' are at being one of the worst teams in competition history and didn't take more of a weed whacker to the list to open up more slots for picks.

How many new players do you want? We're already adding 12 new players to the list this offseason.

We hand out premature contract extensions like Oprah Winfrey.

you are talking about picks in late 40s/40s in a weak draft mate. calm down. those guys have 1yr contract, ones drafted would need 2yr contracts. we actually have a bust on who to delist.

list spots are tight. you pick who you can. thats it. just because you don't rate those players, doesn't mean the coach doesn't see something.
