A month or two ago would not have been surprised to see him picked up in the late first, early second. To get him as a rookie draft is great value.

At the literal start of the year everyone had him as the very first West Aussie picked, perhaps even a top 10-15. A very good result to get him

Not looking to kick off a whole thing, but had we rookied Cripps, we wouldn’t be able to have taken FRod, correct?

Now the “did we need all three of Schoenberg, Macrae and Dev” or “why not pay Barnett out” question still persists, but there we go. Rodriguez in the door a good result. The Banfield (and Evans, I suppose) chat will persist, but very glad to have him especially as a free swing given his earlier draft stock.
