Its not the Brownlow though. Its the team best and fairest award.

Should you abandon that when your team gets the Spoon?

No - but a lot of team best and fairests are not 3-2-1 voting. And team best and fairests do not get national broadcast on the TV as though they are the Brownlow.

I'm just saying some pretty diabolical efforts getting votes.

I guess when the team has a rough trot and are getting pummelled, performances that in past years doesn't look like getting a vote are being looked at to satisfy the 3-2-1 system.

LEADERBOARD (With England matches to be played)

10:
Watson
9: M.Hussey, White, Clarke
8: Ponting
7: Hopes, Johnson, Harris
6: Bollinger
5: Haddin, Tait
3: Doherty, McKay
2: Paine, Smith, Starc
1: Hauritz, S.Marsh

With 3 of the 4 players on 7 and 8 votes unable to get any more votes (Ponting and Harris injured, Hopes out of favor) it looks as though it will be between the top 4 unless someone has a series like never before. The more I think about it perhaps the 7th game will be added for the 2012 medal to give exact weighting for the tests (2 test votes = 1 ODI vote).

ABM COUNT WITH 6/7 ODI'S TO PLAY (This count doesn't consider how Umpires, Players and Media vote, so final voting tallies obviously will vary from the votes I've given)

Test Vote weighting: Test Votes are DOUBLED (11 Tests, probably 22 ODI's).

34: Watson
27: Johnson
23: M.Hussey
21: Clarke
17: Haddin
14: Ponting
11: Harris
10: North, Katich, Bollinger
9: White
8: Siddle
7: Hopes
6: Smith, Paine
5: Tait
3: Doherty, McKay
2: Starc
1: Hauritz, Marsh

Just out of interest, can you put up a 'per game' average?

...will be retrospectively awarded to Damien Martyn (for 2004) after little Clarkie robbed it from him (with some cheap ODI hundreds) and a pathetic ****sucking media campaign. Also after declaring he was the right man for No.4 (after his 'good' mate just got sacked), 6 years later, he continues to fail at 4 and must hide away at 5.

Agreed.

Marto was in the form of his life, but was then rested for about 5 ODI's late in the voting period, plus a few others during the year.

Basically the medal is cheapened somewhat every year because often the best players are rested from several ODI games, which could result in them missing out on winning the medal.

He was then pipped at the post by Clarke who scored cheap hundreds in dead rubber ODI's that Marto was rested from. Also didn't help Martyn that Clarke was a media darling back then, and Martyn has never ever been popular in the media.

T20 votes are multiplied by 1.5??? WTF? (not doubting you btw, just can't figure this out - they should be less important than ODI's).
absolutely. especially when you consider this year we played in a world cup. normally we only play about 6 or 7 20-20's so will those 20-20 games count as more than a test match?? that would be completely redicolous.

best way to do it would be to bring the weighting of the test matches so that they are equal to ODI's, and then keep the 20-20 matches at their face value regardless of how many games are played.

Anyone watching?

Was that James Hird's son in that promo just before?
