He is fit, has been training hard, is young and is a Luke Ball clone but probably just lacks the same polish.

But what more do you want for a pick after 40. We won't get better.

Would be an instant fix to the midfield and great depth at worst.


Let him do his business until Beams and Sidebottom are ready and then retire him.

He would've been a huge asset in the finals

If we can get Harris with pick 62 or even later, I'd be up for it.

No way in hell would you use pick 30 on Harris though, but a later pick would be fine.

If he was cut by Brad Scott who clearly places a premium on contested ball winning why would we want him

Harris was on the outer at North before Scott came in. His papers were signed.


He has nto missed a game from injury since 2003. Forget about his injury issues, he is fit and ready to go.

Instead of taking a few weeks off, he has continued training post-season.


He is an onballer who would take the burden of Sidebottom and Beams for 2 years. Then these 2 takeover and Harris retires. It's perfect.

We won't find better at pick 62.

agreed Joel Selwood. The more I read about him, the more I think that he made a large contribution to changing that football club into a premiership team...second place to saint nick because he bleeds footballs.

I to am a Daniel Harris fan.

People keep talking about how we need a 'inside' midfielder, here is one which should be at his peak. Only 27 and can provide more than what Shane O'bree does around the packs and around the ground.

If we can pick him up with pick 62 in a shallow draft then definitely give it a crack.

He would probably be the 23rd player on our list which is mighty handy for a pick 62 in a terribly weak draft.


All this talk about him been injured....have a look at him on footywire. He has not missed a game in 5 years apart from this year where he only played 10. But he wasn't injured..he fell out of favour.


Averages around 5 tackles a game as well.


Theres talk about him and O'BRee not been able to fit on the same list. Well Harris is 4 years younger and O'BRee is 31 so he won't play more than 2 more years where Harris can take over for another year then hand it over to Sidebottom and Beams.

In 3 years O'Bree should be pushed out regardless of age. Simple because Beams, McCarthy and Sidebottom should all be at a level where they are winning enough ball that O'Bree as the flawed clearance man is not needed. Therefore nor will Harris be needed. I don't particularly want to see Harris and O'Bree in the same team but I can still see the value in getting Harris for the short term.

If it is with our last pick in this years draft we are probably not missing out on much else. Harris would put pressure on O'Bree and provide us with good depth if O'Bree gets injured etc. The problem is I don't think Harris will want to go to a team where he is not in the starting 22.

Leigh Brown would not have considered that he'd be in our 22. He played nearly every game.


Harris would be the 23rd player on the list. 1st emergency to a midfielder. He'd play atleast 15 games.
