Thats when he was at his peak, either side of that period he sucked, that period showed his a good player, he first made the side early 20s before Warner and around the same time as Smith, he should be sitting with a record equal or better then Warner instead he averages 40 with 8 hundreds and thats by filling his boots against crap sides, very much underachieved, I'm not saying he sucks I'm saying he very much underachieved for his talents.
