One week ago Murdoch media was predicting an “exodus” of sponsors becaus they wouldn’t be lectured to by “wokesters”, as modern society is it’s actually the “wokes” who are the majority and have the most money to spend so that appeals to business.

There is actually more reason for players to speak out now than before. For the same money, NA have given away the right for the highest finishing team to host the grand final, a move which was received so well by Victorians last year...
It's great the NA have been able to find an alternative sponsor, but I wouldn't using an opportunistic state government using tax payer funds to highjack a major event (that has already been contentious in the past) as any great sign of victory.

Can we please stop trying to equate infrastructure investment with marketing spend? As has been pointed out ad nauseum in here, the state government has also invested in infrastructure projects for AFL teams (and other sporting organisations). It's not an apples with apples comparison.
