Yeh, you just drive for 15 minutes, and you gotta do one park etc. (reverse parallel, 20m reverse, angle park, 3 point turn).

What's it like in Adelaide?

Umm, depends what way you do it.

I did the logbook, which means you just drive around completing assignments (parking, u-turn etc), there's 30 of them in total, and you can take as many lessons as you want doing them.

I did mine in 6, and then at the end, you have to do a final drive. It consists of 30 minutes of perfect driving.

The VORT (Vehicle on Road Test) is 45 minutes IIRC, but I'm not 100% sure, and that's just like your test.

I just crash, almost into Milan Mandaric once actually when my house was next door to Fratton Park:D

Gees. You guys get it tough.

We just gotta do this gay test on a computer where you click a mouse when you can turn, when you should slow down, etc. And you only need like 55% to pass.

Then as I mentioned, the 15 minute driving test.

This is to get your P's? You for real?

We can get ours when we're 16.5 though, which I believe is a whole 1.5 years before you can.

We have to do the gay test on the computer to progress to our P2s, which you can do after you've had your Ps for a year, and just means you don't have to display your P's. And we have to get 80%.

I'm at that stage now :)

What's stage 1? Do you get to drive by yourself?

How old can you be to get your learners?

Yeah P1 you can drive by yourself. Just have to display your P Plates, it's the only difference.

As soon as you turn 16 you can get your learners, and then you have to complete the thing I said above, and 50 hours of supervised driving (anyone with a full license) with at least 10 at night.

You probably don't have The Great Dazzling Dane Swan, so you can't win.

It's just impossible.
Yes, the Swans are dazzling.

Bit quiet about Thomas on this board today..:D

16 for learners, I got my L's 2 days after my birthday - didn't get a mistake on the test, but its kinda hard to :p
Third lesson on Wednesday, let's hope buses and pedestrians remain intact.

****, driving by myself at 16.5, that woulda been sweet.

But, you have to do shitloads more than we do.

When I got my L's/P's. Pass a piss easy Learners Test with questions, where the answer is in the question, ie. "What does a STOP sign mean?"

No log book, no ticking shit off, just pass a stupid computer test that you can't fail basically, and drive for 15 minutes.

Scary I know.

Blimey, not much experience at all

Yeh. The only good law for our P platers, which I think might be in every state, is the power to weight ratio for cars. So P platers can't drive excessively powerful cars, just to piss off the choccos. :p

But, the cops don't really enforce it.

Yeah we don't have that.

I have a 3.8 litre VN :p
