thought Hellier was just trying to be funny every time he opened his mouth and I know he was the comic but most of the time he just wasn't funny. Richo and Lethal looked embarrassed to be there. Don't think I will bother in the future

Last week I was prepared to give it a go, as it’s always a tough gig first up, but tonight stinks so bad it’s unbelievable.

And to think we have to put up with that miserable lame office tipping skit all year. The Fev cartoon would be right at home on Play School, the cabcie skit was cringe worthy. Just spewing the 489th repeat of Seinfeld isn’t on GO tonight.

They need to move it to 8.30, make it more edgy, make Hillier more like Trev behind the bar in his early days, and get a decent host.

Helliar is genuinely terrible. The bit were he tried to throw to Richo and stuttered on his words only to have the camera stay on him for 10 seconds without him saying a word was embarrasing.

Helliar did his funniest gear when the cameras were off. Crowd were starting to get way restless at the end. The reason I'd say he was so flustered was that taping started at 6.30 and finished at 8, so by the time they finished the show was already running. With that tight timeline they still had to do reshoots on a few things.

The Yarran bit actually got a few laughs the first time, but nothing when they redid it after the tape died - and the bit with Will Minson had to be piped in later because they forgot to put it on at the time.

Felt bad for Arj Barker being roped into such a rubbish angle at the end.

I was also interested in the clause on the tickets that said nobody under 15 allowed. Winning angle for a "family show" :D

Channel 7 footy shows always try too hard with their Rove-type teenager 'humour', casual clothing, bands, fake laughter, etc. What works for The Footy Show is that they are more relaxed and down to earth and don't try to be funny every second. It's the same rubbish dished up every time with 7 - Four Quarters, Live and Kicking, The Game, The Bounce. A lot of those shows had people on there that I really like, but they sucked.

I would assume this is so the little tykes don't get cranky and noisy with a 90min taping.

Sure I can see why they do it, and if I had my way I'd piss off the family angle and have it go blue but if you're going to sell it as that at least get some kids in to do something. For a segment, in a taped segment.. Whatever. It just seems to me like they're doing a really weak show for adults at the moments instead of what they're really aiming for.

Oh, and that slop with Helliar and Lawson pretending to be kids has to go. Even worse than the rubbish with the cab driver.

I didn't mind the Crack The Coach angle just because it allows a proper comedian to come on and actually crack proper jokes. Should give it longer than 90 seconds.

They need to get rid of the team selection reading and game tips. It brings absolutely nothing to the show.

Needs more skits. And there were times when you could tell when Helliar was trying a bit too hard.

I cannot agree more. These ruffians in their "jeans" are really bringing down social standards. Back in my day we wouldn't leave the house unless we were wearing a 3 piece suit.

Whatever works for you, mate. Give me The Footy Show any day. Has withstood every 'family friendly' offering Seven's chucked at it for 16 years.

I'm pretty sure Helliar was wearing a rug last night.
He now has much more hair than this :D

Yeah, s'pose if you enjoy infantile humour, self-indulgence and being talked down to by arrogant tossers then knock yourself out.
