So in other words, he was giving his current coach a compliment and his comments about Ross were used out of context.

When those with whom she verbally spars construe her statements literally she implies they need to relax and recognize her underlying jovial intent. Yet when it suites her she does the complete opposite; e.g during one of his interviews a few days ago, Sayers jovially suggested that the footy landscape is surprisingly fickle, to that, yesterday, she went on a rant as if it was a literal summation of his inability to comprehend the footy landscape. Spare me, she does it often.

He is genuinely one of the safest pundits in there, capable of saying more or less what he wants at any given time with no kickback or repercussions, because he's in a completely unique position.

He's required to make intelligent sounding observations that do not need to last beyond the end of the broadcast. Nothing more.

I can't see the board leaking at this stage. None were forced out.

Hoping the club and past players association can also help somehow with raising funds for Buzz's treatment.

Sadly I was too young/before my time to watch and appreciate the likes of him and the rest of the greats from the 70s/early 80s.



I would players like him and Mike Fitzpatrick are a big reason why we have such a massive WA Fanbase.

Must have been so fun for those lucky enough to have watched him play live.

Keep fighting the good fight Buzz, I certainly will be chipping in what I can to help him beat this horrible disease.

What would he know about how a good club should operate..

I think when you see comments of this nature, it’s always good to keep in mind the herd mentality that prevails among the footy commentariat. They’re hardly the most diverse group and they love to agree with each other and feel comfortable in the safety provided by being part of the tribe.

So with this in mind - Carlton are the easiest target in the league at this moment. They can throw out lines like “Teague was treated terribly” and no one is going to challenge them. Even though Carlton have explained the timeline - which seems to be the reason for people believing the treatment was terrible - the herd mentality is such that they just can’t compute it. They also can’t seem to remember they themselves slaughtered Teague on a weekly basis because now the herd dictates that we’re in the “Teague is a great bloke” part of the cycle, of course it’s just NOW they’ve all remembered that a human being is involved. And of course instead of a bit of self-reflection on whether they could have been done anything differently, it’s easier to throw it all on the club.

Anyway I’ve gone on too long but basically at this point in time, where they might laud exactly the same actions from a club they consider successful as ‘decisive, ruthless’ - they’ll slaughter Carlton because it’s what the herd is reinforcing as a safe position.

Q2/ Do you think you could do as good job than say a Ross Lyon.

Q3/ Ross is a pretty good coach, don’t you think.
