Apologies for the intrusion- Could someone please let me know what happened in the end with Weitering and his ‘head knock’?

The commentators were going ad-nauseam about how Carlton had to take him off because he was ‘staggering’ around. I think Garry Lyon got especially excited about it.

Suddenly, it’s faded away, which is good. Clearly nothing wrong with him from the way he played after that. Only Jonathon Brown was saying it’s just a glancing blow and that happens on the field often with no injury.

AFL investigated & cleared it. Weiters & club said he copped it in the throat and was struggling to breathe for a few minutes hence the staggers. Club concussion tested him after the game as precaution was all clear. AFL investigated through the week & all OK/cleared.

Story in the age about Liam Jones. Because he has yo yo'd between carlton & the dogs when they were at their poorest he is about to overtake Patrick Cripps for games played without playing a final.
Ha ha. Suck on a rotten egg, Jonesy

SEN did some analysis on ladder position wins in the second week of finals in the past decade:

Overall stats

(Since 2013)

Higher ranked team wins: 12
Lower ranked team wins: 8

3rd v 7th: 3-1
4th v 5th: 1-3

Makes sense that there is little between fourth and fifth …

Story in the age about Tom Williamson rediscovering his love of footy after winning a premiership at Ararat.

Sorry can't link.

Not sure if this belongs here, but an article on Tom Williamson about his struggles during his Carlton days and how he's found his love for footy again playing with Ararat.

When Carlton take to the Gabba in Saturday night’s preliminary final, former Blue Tom Williamson will be watching from the family home in Ararat with his feet up after a week working at the local prison and with a premiership of his own.

The 24-year-old, who was the Blues’ unused sub in last year’s opening-round win over Richmond, walked away from the AFL in mid-2022 to focus on his mental health, deciding, after 44 games and nearly six years in the system, that the top tier wasn’t for him.

THank you, that's exactly what it looked like to me. The bloodlust those commentators showed to get him subbed out and then your medical team in trouble was concerning.

Bucks had the lube out, Gary and Lewis were salty as F.

Jono Brown was like a protective dad (guess his relationship with Vossy and his daughter is a Blues supporter) and was close to giving some bifo.

All my Pies friends and acquaintances are really salty at the moment.. guess they fear we may actually make it to the granny.

I would be 100% behind this. The structure and ball movement of his side were ultra impressive. I said after the game we should look at him for an assistant role, even a senior assistant. (We were in a slump at the time)

Some people are born to coach.
