Anyone believe in omens ?? Forgive my intrusion but here’s a stat for you . Argentina have won the World Cup 3 times in 1978 - Carlton won GF in 1979 , in 1986 - Carlton won GF in 1987 , in 2022 last year - ??????? , thought I’d throw that one out there can only dream lads . Best of luck anyway though going to be up against it tomorrow.

As I said forgive me for intruding if it’s upset you , yes we’ve only got 13 don’t know where he got that from , I’m a hawk fan but as you get older I find myself appreciating the game more regardless of who’s playing. I’d love to see Carlton make it through for the sake of my one eyed Italian Carlton supporting DIL and my wife but the theatre of it particularly if it was against Collingwood would be fantastic. All the best .

I think Voss is signed for next season. 2 year extension before then is a monty.

He's 2 years into a 3 year contract.
But he will get a contract extension this off-season.

Some really good insight here. Charlie was rarely targeted by the midfielders in the finals, but it's his fault. I wonder why he just lost his forward play ability? Needs to think.

I brought this up in my match review referencing what I noticed live. I was defending him all finals until watching a live game and realised he's just not working like he normally does.

He was constantly looking for long passes over the top, despite (as you say) being 65m from the play. It was so weird to see him not working hard up and back as he normally does. I don't know what gremlins got into his mind but something did.

PS as they mentioned in the vid i don't mean not working hard, just not working in the same ways he normally does.

Think Charlie misread the feel of finals.

Players being more under pressure less likely to have time to kick the ball long

Good learning experience for next year and beyond

This year I've had to deal with the club a few times, including today when I had to get a problem sorted out about B&F tickets that had gone astray.

After the problem was solved, I thought about the experiences I've had with the staff and without exception they've been pro-active, helpful, friendly and professional. Everything followed up to make sure all was ok and nothing was too much trouble, not matter how trivial.

This reflects on Brian Cook and the management of the club. We know things sometimes go wrong, especially on the field, but considering how annoying some supporters must be (not least of all me!), I'm always impressed by their attitude and positivity.

It's a long way from where things were just a few short years ago.

Charlie strikes me as an instinctive player, I don't feel there's a lot of pre thinking going on plus the mids would be under more pressure than usual in finals so the kicks coming in are quite often not going to be lace out on the chest.

And to Lyon's point and given the messier entries into the f50 Charlie needs to bring it to ground for the likes of Martin, Fog and Mots to get involved, I don't think he adjusted to the uptick in pressure on him that well tbh.

I wouldn’t mind betting some of those, not all, were dummy leads to get Andrew’s out of the picture. that one where he leads right when George is going the complete opposite way gives it away a bit
