The 'Teague Train' must run on the Seymour/Shepparton line because it is so damn unreliable. One minute it is rushing through stations at a rate of knots, next minute you're standing on the platform looking down the track wondering if it will every arrive.
It's being held up because of the level crossing removals going on.

All the better sides put MORE players on the recieving ends of a contested situation than not. True or False?
All the better sides have at least one support runner ready to go or recieve second outside clearance . True or False?
Carlton doesn't do either of these BASIC things well relative to better sides. True or False?

I was hard on Liddle for his BS marketing focus and memberships sacrificing unity and solidarity at the time. Couldnt care less about memberships numbers inflated by his trickery and his marketing of finals or bust nonsense.

I will go harder on Loyd/Barker/Stanton and the rest of Teague's support crew if they can't even deliver text book basics.

Our game plan is fine IF the above were fixed - as a start.
Why?

Because you cant play tempo footbnall if you can't control possession or control the likely outcomes of contested situations through your structures and set ups. Teagues territory game and pressure is NOTHING without a system by which pressure can actually be applied and where possession ie contested differentials can actually be used to advantage - thisis why we leak goals -it is the outcome of teh team being set up for joe teh goose and easy transition - because our players are LITERALLY being told to be in the wrong place ALL the time and do the wrong things all the time.

It i a game style based on individual briliance not team play - it is CRAPOLA compared to any team that is drilled well.
Exhibit A : Libba and the Doggies. He’s a one man distribution machine. His teammates hang back, let him go to work and reap the rewards.
It’s beautiful too watch.

We had one of those too.......until he decided to be a linebreaker. Get back to basics Crippa.
We lament the poor possession numbers of our mids, the Doggies flick it around to create an effective clearance. We are a decent clearance team, but how many times does it come straight back over their heads?

I dont understand why we need to outnumber opposition in the actual fight for hands on ball and largely ignore both defensive and attacking positionoing around the contest. Hands on the ball is only part of the contested game...the stats on this are at best interesting - but it seems that better teams have figured out that corralling better hand on the ball sides - and forcing turnovers via pressure on carriers leads to much greater advantage..

I guess it all depends on the players you have at your disposal and the way they are coached.

If Carlton wants to play a very contested game and ignore the outside - then the notion of fast forward movement at all times pretty much forces ineffective entries- unless forward presure is good enough to generate stasis in the forward fifty - the stats year to date indicate Carlton is bottom 4 in executing this part of the game.

the game style Teague has implemented isn't particularly 'revolutionary' - but it is predictable to defend against and if your forwards aren't able to generate enough pressure to contain rebound - then what we see in terms of easy end to end transiiton is what we will continue to see.

Sent it where?

(for what it's worth, which probably isn't much, when I was at uni if you summitted or presented anything in powerpoint it was an automatic fail)
I was just talking shit mate sorry!

There are formatting guidelines for PowerPoint's in APA and Harvard, but I can imagine if you did a lab report in PowerPoint they may be less than stoked.

Hard part of the draw over, and we failed. Not only did we not take a single scalp, we lost to the Pies in a game we should have won. The Pies and Dogs losses are going to come back to bite us IMO.

We now need to win around 9 of the next 13 games to get into the 8. Ideally 10. 8 at an absolute stretch with healthy percentage, and if results go our way.

Positive news is we should go into most of those games as favorites:

Hawthorn (Home) - MCG
Sydney (Away) - SCG
West Coast (Home) - MCG
BYE
Greater Western Sydney (Away) - GIANTS Stadium
Adelaide - (Home) Marvel Stadium
Fremantle - (Away)
Geelong (Home) - MCG
Collingwood (Away) - MCG
North Melbourne (Home) - Marvel Stadium
St Kilda (Away) - Marvel Stadium
Gold Coast (Home) - Marvel Stadium
Port Adelaide (Away) - Adelaide Oval
Greater Western Sydney - (Home)

The only game there where we can pencil in a loss is the Port game in Adelaide. We should be going into every other game as favorites or close to even odds, with good recent record and exposed form against the other 'harder' games (Geelong, Freo in Perth).

Unless we fall in a hole like we did end of last year, we'll definitely win more than we lose out of that lot. Remains to be seen if we can make it nine from thirteen though.

Looking at it another way...none of the current top 8 teams are likely to drop out of the 8. Pretty much locked as is. Ive accepted we won’t make 8 this year. Best we use remainder of season to improve game plan issues, player positioning, successfully bringing back kemp and Charlie and giving a few more opportunities to younger players to help develop them further. Next year we just have to make top 8.

Haven't beaten GWS in 4 years. Could be a struggle.

Ok
Don't fall off your chairs.
But now Tim Watson is saying it was Gil Mac who approached Jordan Lewis for the footy director job at our club.
Yep.
Make of that what you will my fellow baggers.

So like Clark Kent in reverse, Jordan Lewis goes from Thugman to Genius once he puts on his glasses?
