Quality of defenders is one thing. He's probably had three of the best five defenders going around, so you accept he isn't likely to dominate. You are going to lose a wrestle with May or Andrews 9/10 times.
He may not have positioned himself well, and yes it's on him to put himself in attacking spots. But it's also incumbent on others to create those leading lanes...which we aren't good at...and we need others to place blocks and run decoys to create that space, which we aren't good at...and we need to execute that kick inside 50, which we aren't good at.
We wilted a bit under finals pressure and fell back into bombing it long and hoping. Plenty of high, shallow I50s, that are easily defended and rebounded.
Forward craft is the missing piece of the puzzle for us. We are still far too reliant on momentum and individual brilliance.
