There was a moment during the Hawthorn game - in the 2nd half when Charlie went to the bench, he was doing some run through’s & spoke to a physio/trainer on the bench - you could see the others guy mouth the words “ the knee”.

Given his performance last week & believe he was a no-show yesterday(?) - it wouldn’t surprise me if Charlie catches a nasty “head cold” from Harry this week.

I hope I’m wrong!
His was on the pickle juice at quarter time from already cramping up

“Im hearing his knee isn’t good, and he won’t be back until mid season”, something along those lines. Then says that his source is impeccable.

IMO his head has gotten bigger since getting the SEN gig. He was a great contributor to Blue Abroad, and I still enjoy TJP, but he now just comes across as arrogant and obnoxious a lot of the time. Plus Mars is a complete loose cannon, which makes the show almost unwatchable at times, especially if we lose.

Mars is an absolute embarrassment at Carlton games, have personally seen him kicked out many times, and other times clash with fans and even other Carlton supporters. The club should revoke his membership and access to member areas.

I agree. I can't watch that show. It's like sitting through a screening of a boys club of ego's. I find it irritating.

He gets kicked out, and then complains on his show that he’s allowed to do what he’s doing, and security is always wrong to kick him out. Common denominator is it’s him that keeps getting kicked out 😂

Re: above rumour about Voss and Charlie - Sean on the Prendercast did say he has heard a rumour that a group of players (including Cripps) are confused or not sure of what is expected of them under Voss's game plan.

The plan is clearly bomb long to a contest. Win contest. Go to next contest. Bomb into F50.

If that’s not the plan, then the players are directly going again the coaches instructions.

He’s also the guy who abused Abbie Chatfield while she was trying to do her job at the Aus Open isn’t he?
Absolute embarrassment. I stopped following TJP on socials and won’t watch or listen to them. No place for that kind of behavior.

I don’t understand why the players just don’t do their own thing when confusion sets in … play their own way … it’s not like anyone’s getting dropped or anything lol

I have been told by more than one person that the issue isn't following the game plan, it's that when sides do well or get a run on we have no answers. The players feel our game plan or style is dour, taxing and players are frustrated with having trouble scoring

It was a major issue end of last year that caused a meeting between Cook, coaches and players which was supposed to resolve it. The whole summer was then about defence

Lots of talk now some senior players are getting very frustrated and sick of being blamed for failing despite doing what they are instructed to do. There has even been some tension between coaches over the way we play.

You hear rumours all the time (most nothing) but this one has been consistent and building and I trust the source(s) on this one. How bad it is I'm not sure

Whatever it is, something definitely needs to change

Currently we are 3rd in the league for inside 50's averaging just under 30, 3rd in contested possessions, 2nd in clearances, number 1 for intercepts, 2nd for tackles, 3rd for inside 50 tackles, first for 1%ers & we have "won" both games "expected score- I really don't think the players are confused on the game plan, that they are 100% committed or the game plan is not working".

The problem is we are dead last for disposal efficiency (64.6%), number 1 for turnovers and 14th for marks inside 50 - basic execution is what is letting us down not any great conspiracy theory on a rift between players and the coach or players not understanding what they are being asked to do.

Isn't this reflective of our game style?

Think there's been rumours about the senior players being confused about the coach's gameplan since the early 2010's, maybe even further back for all I know - is there lead leaking into the water supply at Princes Park? Only explanation IMO.

the ancient Indian burial ground we built Princes Park on has contaminated the ground water.

Bingo. Banging the ball long to the contest every time you get it is a 50/50 prospect so you could argue they are actually overachieving (64%) in this regard.
This is champion data's definition of an effective long kick;
Effective Long Kick: A kick of more than 40 metres to a 50/50 contest or better for the team.

Not really, no. Long bombs are going to be counted as effective. So it's more likely about execution.

AFL Website:

Effective disposal: A kick of more than 40 metres to a 50/50 contest or better for the team or a kick of less than 40 metres that results in the intended target retaining possession.

I would argue many of our bombs aren't going to 50/50 contests or better

Even so - they are going to be the big issue for the league worst DE

Bang on - watching our game against Hawthorn.. we have Cottrell and Docherty spraying balls i50, whilst Hawthorn have Watson and Ginni delivering missiles.

I agree and your stats are damning. The question is to understand why and how to fix it

Issue for me is this is now a pattern and nothing seems to change
Agree, the optimist in me says that skills should be the easy thing to fix and we are getting all the hard stuff right - but the fact we still haven't fixed it after years is distressing.
