Will be interesting to see the SACA produce anything that's not a road given Worrall hoops it, Agar bowls with genuine pace and bounce and Doggett nips in around
I'd be very interested to hear how Gillespie viewed the pitches at Karen Rolton Oval last summer and if there was any blowback. The current curator is from the Les Burdett School of pitch preparation and I'm not sure is the type to take criticism/suggestions on board

What are the thoughts on why Pope isn't coming along in FCC?
Has played too much white ball cricket, not enough red ball stuff

Ideally would hone his craft with a couple of years of 2nd XI cricket to get his control up to standard

However got exposed early to Shield cricket (with some good results but more maulings) and 2nd XI cricket was cancelled last year

A season in England would be good for him

Is only 21 which is bloody young for a spinner

Big broom thru SACA cricket with half the Redbacks shown the door or retired. Some good players for the future tho. Henry Hunt has the game to open for the Baggy Greens. Likewise David Grant with the ball, while the Kelly boys cud well play white ball cricket for us.

Agree with this. Or back to red ball Premier Cricket. He has taken some fearful hidings for his wickets in recent years but we all know leg spin is a hard craft to master. We also recall his massacre of the U19 Poms a while back.. what was it something like 8-40.
