Spurs fan who abandoned his support 12 months ago is now slagging off other Spurs fans for abandoning their support.
Incorrect on one front, I watched less football particularly EPL due to the comp being dominated by cheats, and not that I answer to you but have already explained that HERE. Never abandoned supporting my club. And I'll pass whatever judgment I want on the fans this club has here.

By far the worst on the board
Apart from the Hawks fans and pups who are good value.

Your own words:
I have taken an indefinite sabbatical from this board, and most importantly this sport as whole.
I dunno, seems a bit different from "watching less football". And yet here you are taking shots at others for taking an "indefinite sabbatical".

As for that post, I get you're having a bad time but it's a bit pathetic really. You engage in some "light hearted ribbing", he responds, and you start calling him insecure and bringing up your situation to make him feel guilty about responding to something that you initiated yourself.

Very well then. Don't let me stop you.

For reference he was about the 4th-5th person on here to throw it back at me that I'd stopped watching games, and was for the 2nd time as well - first of which was warned to leave me be - and not like it had to be permanent or was specified that it would be permanent. I took time away from watching games, enjoyed it, enjoyed avoiding the usual Matchday tiffs between fans over VAR etc. Was good for my mental health. I watched some games late and that was what I needed at that time.

And I can't envisage I'll have a strong appetite to get back into it next season. Too many clubs seek to, or need to break PSR to get ahead. Apart from the obvious two that have set English football on this path Newcastle have been constrained by ffp restrictions even with oil money, while other clubs financially chasing after the wealthier 6 clubs - like Villa, Forest, Everton, Wolves, Leicester have all either fallen fowl of ffp rules and been sanctioned or have been forced to sell, including dodgy June 30 youth sales. I don't like what football has become off the field, and on the field the game is a lot more robotic and we see less of the flair that Bergkamp, R9, Zidane, Weah and so on and so on brought to the game.

I don't like the type of fans we attract. Delusions of grandeur that we're just a new owner away from sustained glory, as if the traditional big clubs are just going to roll over, and the happiness many of them have if we ended up like Newcastle with a sugar daddy owner.
Have had that view for a while and not shied away from it. Mostly down to the fact they're not balanced in their criticisms, blame everything on the board of the club and get their noses bent out of joint when some unfair aspects are corrected.

Super league, trying to move us to London stadium, COVID furloughs. All fair. New owners please.
Commentary about lack of spending (since COVID), the club is just for their own profits, or that they've done nothing to improve the club. All lacking in evidence.

As for today, Frank it is, hopefully with Mbeumo, we'll see what happens. Could work, could easily flop. But I am glad we didn't follow United with ETH, even if most of the others aren't.

Brentford to Spurs is clearly a step up in terms of size of club and ambition. Brentford will always be at best a mid-table PL club. In the last few seasons Spurs have generally been around the top 5 and next season they have a CL place.

Frank will want to test himself at the higher level and will probably double his pay. Also it seems like failing at Spurs isn't career defining. Everyone does it.

I mean it's not career killing per se but he's 98 % likely to get sacked within 3 years unless levy is gone (which is unlikely). He'd have to have massive financial problems to want to agree to that chalice just for the cash. He's much better off staying where he is and waiting for a better club job.

Managers have gotten good jobs after being sacked by Levy. Poch to PSG. Conte to Napoli. Ramos to Real Madrid. Few did drop off the face of the earth like AVB. But even Redknapp and Jol got decent PL opportunities after us

The football world knows it's him and not the managers fault.

Even AVB got to Marseille later on

FC Nantes reportedly close to appointing Luis Castro, who'll be their 22nd manager in the 18 years Waldermar Kita has been owner.
Actually I hope this appointment goes ahead for the mighty Canaries. Castro did well with Ligue 2 club Dunkerque, taking over when they were close to bottom of the table two seasons ago and leading them to 4th place in Ligue 2 last season. He also took them to the Coupe de France semi-final where they were knocked out by PSG. (In that game they were actually leading 2-0, until PSG switched up a couple of gears and won 4-2).
