Conca will be delisted because he’s not very good.
Simple as that. There’s no conspiracy.
Probably the worst disposal by foot on the entire list apart from maybe Blakely.
Nah that’s too harsh.

The game went past him very quickly & he couldn’t catch up. He had lost the ability to attack & had become too defensive. He was a valuable player in certain circumstances, but I agree he struggled to create due to limited kicking abilities.

I think Conca has been told he's not getting re-signed so he probably figures why bother going into quarantine.
This is it. Freo have form from last year.

I’m not going for any conspiracy trigger theories but he won’t be on the list next year.

In saying this it does have a Shane Kersten feel about for some reason.

There was a moment in the Derby where WC were pushing hard in the third. We were down by about 2 goals. Conca takes on a player on the wing with everyone pushing forward. Tries a fend off with ball held against his chest - gets tackled drops the ball turnover and goal. Vision of Longmuir was the most damning vision I have seen since he has been coach. He was irate. Conca spent time on the bench was then dropped for the next game.

The only other game he has played since was his 150th where he came in for suspended Wilson.

Has been average to poor ever since at Peel.

When you compare to Wilson earlier in the year. Wilson couldn’t get in the pre-season games - missed the first round or two whilst playing at Peel. Since getting in the team he has played well for Freo.

What is hase a 5th columnist or something? Ending the non co-operation is one thing, but improving the scums hand by taking their spuds off their hands is quite another.
Bit disengenuous. I couldn't honestly say that Taberner is better than waterman, in fact Waterman would probably be our best forward if he came. Brander is an unknown quantity, starved of opportunity in his draft position.

Hase has made a sensible point, we have a surplus midfielder, they have a surplus forward, seems win win to me. He's right that he'd come cheap too.

Hahaha, you have no idea. Taberner is a FF. Waterman is not, he's a third tall and he's not a contested marking beast either. Would he help us? Yes. But he's not taking Taberner's spot. Treacy is better than Waterman ffs.

Your saying this is your forward lineup: Waterman, Treacy, Lobb ?? and Taberner plays at Peel? Delusion.

I just don't rate Taberner, he's not a premiership forward. Bad decision maker and injury prone

I never understood this term. If we had 2020 Taberner in 2013 (to play as Pav's foil and kick a couple himself) where we went down to Hawthorn by 15 points, you'd think we'd win.
That'd make him a premiership forward.
That'd make Sutcliffe a premiership forward.
That'd make D. Pearce a premiership half-back.
That'd make Suban a premiership midfielder.
(Assuming he'd replace Zac Clarke, else he too would be a "premiership forward")

Not his fault that he's not Pavlich. The problem is List Management has yet to find another Pavlich to dominate the forward line with Tabs as support

How was my post disingenuous exactly? You though I didn't mean it?

Tabs might not be Pav 2.0 but he will likely finish his career well inside the top 10 goalkickers in Freo history whereas Waterman and Brander will be flipping burgers in 2 or 3 years time.
Waterman is a medium forward that doesn't kick that many goals, doesn't defend or draw an opponent due to lack of aerial presence. Brander is a WAFL player. They will both be delisted at the ends of their contracts. Brander will get a year on the RL to save face (as his expires this year).

Hase is an idiot.

Yeah that's fair, the intent behind the comment is I'm doubtful we'd be able to contend with him as the number 1 forward. From your example, Pav is unquestionably a 'premiership' quality number one forward. Of course there are many role players like Taberner would have been had we won on that fateful day.

Anyone got the Brett Peake article in the west saying he knew about RTB saints departure to Freo months before it was public?

I (think) the article was based around comments from the Hard Ball Gets pod.
He apparently unleashed on Ross a bit

so as to avoid copyright infringment, summary:
  • RBB best coach he's had
  • rates RBB very highly
  • RBB deserved better than how Saints were delaying him
  • Brett knew about the Freo offer well before anyone else at Saints
  • didn't specify how but I picked up that it was likely through his Freo connections (maybe his Dad?)
  • thinks RBB should get the Collingwood job or should be a mentor (director of coaching?) for Kingsley as an alternative (rated Kingsley really highly as an assistant (I think we did too on here when looking for a coach))

Harsh on conca comparing him to Kersten.

I dont think reece has carried on like a halfwit like kersten did at the club.

What's a premiership forward? Pavlich? Nick Riewoldt? Fevola? Neitz? Because one singular forward doesn't win a premiership.

Tabs made the All Australian squad playing for an average team with horrendous delivery and very little help. Tabs is a f***ing good forward and has actually proven to be one of the best handful in the comp, his contested marking, consistency with goals is right up there, despite playing in a fairly shit team.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, but your views on Tabs, especially saying Waterman is better than him, is f***ing moronic and that's actually a compliment.

Rant over.

I kind of agree with Hasleby in that we could use someone on our list who is a medium sized forward that can mark and has a bit of forward craft experience that can balance out the forward line if we have 2 of Taberner, Lobb and Treacy playing as tall forwards.

At the moment we're giving that kind of role to Banfield because Sturt is injured. Bit thin.

Its not the recipe to success in finals, its just getting a better list balance to choose a forward line from for games through the season.
