Handsome, intelligent, and on the correct side of history about basically everything? Nice!
You'd pay good money to look like him at 75, that's true.

Intelligent compared to you maybe but compared to actual smart people, no. He's been gotten at, 3rd time up the aisle has changed him. You can't trust them, can you?

I'm 41 years old. I don't know how old you are but I'm guessing somewhere in the 35-55yr range? Which means you've been out of high school for at least 20~ years. Who the hell still views people through the lens of what high school cliches they fit into?!

Good post Chadwick. I couldn't give a continental what school anyone went to.

there’s definitely a correlation between the more time my mum spends on her phone - the more political she gets 🙄

She’s now going down the rabbit hole of Ben Shapiro and tags me in shit even though I said I don’t want to ever talk politics.

It’s just an annoying cycle
have you ever heard about the dead internet theory?
its basically when social media sites consist mainly of bots and AI, so everyone you interact with is computer generated with the goal of changing public discourse, its hard to argue against it when you see the above happening to loved ones.

I think it is dangerous to consume a lot of American political social media, I was doing that out of boredom during covid and was noticing the influence it was having on me. It really isn't about politics in America, they use political discourse and social media as a form of brainwashing or dark persuasion and you get sucked into this vortex of manipulation and conflict, an Us vs Them mindset.

It is deliberate and designed to distracts and divide people. It doesn't matter if Republicans or Democrats get elected, America continues to do American things regardless if there is a conservative or liberal figurehead, the politics is an illusion of choice but nothing changes. Distracting people from that truth is the game.

America is the most brainwashed country behind China, Russia and North Korea. Humans are very vulnerable to mind control, even if you you are aware of it and the methods they use. It is a bit like people and poke addiction. It can be hard to break out of that once your mind is hooked. It is a form of addiction.

My old man is well and truly cooked from this stuff as well.

I regret him discovering social media tbh. The spiralling has considerably strained our relationship.

I thought it was just me. My old man went well and truly down the rabbit hole during the pandemic. He is now in the depths of chem trails and the Charlie Kirk murder being an inside job.

Puts a very big strain on our relationship when he is constantly trying to bait me about certain subjects.

Love the bloke, but man it’s draining being around him. Brining up those topics has been the down fall of many family dinners over the last few years, which is bloody sad.

I miss my dad bro. It's not good.

Can’t see mine going back to his old ways. Semi retired now and spends 6+ hours on the computer everyday getting fed by the algorithm. It’s a self perpetuating cycle when you have time on your hands and no real hobbies to break up your day.

You have to have a worthwhile purpose in life. Half our group are people who retired early and just existed, gave up their life really but luckily came back to it

Child poverty, homelessness hit new highs in mining-rich WA
By Daryna Zadvirna

The number of children experiencing poverty has doubled in Western Australia over the past decade, as youth homelessness in the state hits breaking point, new data has revealed.

Findings from the Child Poverty in Australia report released on Monday found one in six children in WA are experiencing food insecurity, poor housing conditions and limited access to healthcare.

Separately, new data from WA's frontline services and housing peak bodies show 69 teens and young adults aged under 25 in Perth are competing for one crisis bed in the Perth metropolitan area every night.

The figures have prompted calls for both state and federal governments to commit to further measures to reduce child poverty and homelessness.

Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre director Alan Duncan said without meaningful intervention, Australia risked having one million children in poverty within months.

"The rise in child poverty is not a statistical anomaly," he said.

"It's the predictable result of housing stress, inadequate income support and policy drift."

Richest state
Yet WA is on track for a $2.4 billion surplus in 2025-2026, cementing the state as the strongest economy in the nation on the back of its mining wealth.

Apparently there's a bit of weather out there...

November has been a truly wet month so far, prior we were tracking for the driest year in 19 years. All but our biggest dams are spilling and the large one is about a foot off spilling. 3 weeks ago it looked like no chance of happening this season.

That little storm is sure traveling fast...

Its sort of crazy they bought in the fire danger period early and everyone had to rush to light their burn piles, fast forward 4 weeks and you would be struggling to get them alight now....

Was pounded by this. Twas a full lighting and thunder show then a big dump of rain. Came out of no where.

I could see the lightning in the distance and warned told the crew to head outside for the show before it pours. Nothing! It must’ve mowed over the Northern ‘burbs from West to East. It’s been a warm cloudless still night here.
