Hospo businesses are not happy with the 4 day weekend. Gonna cost them a fortune in penalty rates.

I remember there was backlash from small businesses when that PH went in in the first place.

I think Vic have 4 more PH than we have in NSW from memory.

It's a daft PH. Logically it should be on the Monday after the GF (if it must be had) Nbut it isn't because other states have a Labor day public holiday that day.



Question - do we keep the Queen's birthday PH and add a Kings birthday PH now with Charlie at the helm?

Why would we keep a PH for a dead queen? The PH will stay, it'll just be renamed.

Apparently the reason the PH wasn't on the Friday was because Victoria already had the GF Parade PH (still the most ridiculous PH ever).

Thankfully my boss is allowing us to work the Thursday and take the Friday off instead.

2 day week for me. Not complaining.

Whats worse with a Thursday holiday for hospo compared to a Monday is it doesn't boost revenue as significantly to offset the rise in wage costs. Very odd day to call it. A Monday holiday should be more profitable for a hospo business as the 3 day weekend generates that much more than it would as a 2 day weekend that it can cover it. Don't think 4 day weekend thurs-sun will work well at all for the hospo business owners.
