Yeah that's fair enough just keep in mind networking is a huge part of your working life. You'll be surprised how much gets discussed at lunch or over a trip to the coffee machine. Depending on how big your workplace is there are people you might not even see during your working day if you stay at your desk.

For example, where i work is on the opposite side of the floor to the Directors, Associate lawyers and other legal teams. During the day i wouldn't see them as they have no reason to come to my side and vice versa but at lunch quite often they'll be in the lunch room. This is where you can talk to them, have a chat and they can put a name to a face for future reference. Just being around puts you in people's thoughts.

"That Cruyff guy? Nar no idea who he is never seen him" or "yeah he just keeps to himself don't know too much about him"

"Oh Shoei? over in such and such? Yeah i've seen him about and had a chat, nice guy. Actually that reminds me he mentioned he was interested in such and such and we need someone to help with......"

Not saying that's how you are just something to remember!
Oh, I am friends with my team. We get along well and chat a lot during work. We all know about what is going with each other. We have about 20 people on our floor - with two separate teams. Some go for lunch at 12, the others at 1 (to cover phones).

Like people know about me, what I like etc. I go sometimes, just prefer to be alone lol.

Check the white text in my post fool. ;)

Yeah I save a ton of money not going out for lunch.
Yeah dunno how people go out for lunch every day.

Even if it's just 10 bucks a day, that's $50 alone on food.

Yeah I'll eat out with people on client sites, but I'll still eat the lunch I've brought from home. Don't mind hanging around my desk though.

Again, isn't that expensive? Or do you guys just eat worms out in the field? :p

A few of the guys generally play basketball once a week - I play but not often. It's a lot of fun though.
~$50-60 a week. I am too lazy to bring lunch each day, quite happy to get out of the office and go for a walk with mates, talk shit and grab some lunch.

Thankfully no field work for me at this stage.Purely office based now

We have a table tennis table in our lunch room so always try and squeeze in a few games

Am I the only one that thinks chef is a real life version of the one off South Park?
I always think of chef as being this guy...

Sounds shit but trust me and give it a go, actually really great. Think of it more as watching a show that reviews TV shows, but instead of critics it's normal people who have some absolutely ripping calls about the shows they watch.

I guess it's like a reaction vid. I love reaction vids. Like watching people watch GoT etc...

Wow, doesn't that cost you a fortune? No chance I'd go out for lunch every day.
Probably over time. We get the 2 wraps for $10 so only spend $5 a day on food. The convenience far outweighs the cost.

Absolutely, think of it like that. My first reaction when I heard of it was your first reaction, but give it a go and see what you think.

You say that, but it takes me an hour on the weekend to cook up my lunches for the week and it ends up costing me something like $3 a meal for a big tub of spaghetti or stir fry or curry or something like that. Over the course of the year I reckon it saves me a fair wad.

Well based on those figures, it saves you $100 over the course of a year. Which is less pay than 1 work day for me.

Each to their own, I just prefer not having to worry about that kind of shit on the weekend.

I suppose if you have that $5 wrap every day of the week for the entire year..

Well apart from the pub feed we have once a month.

The reason we go the $5 feed each day is it's a decent walk from the office, it's cheap and we can get something different everyday.
