Well we're back in the +.500 column.
Don't forget Davis didn't play 1 and 1/2 games

2006_Eagles aren't you now in charge of the Pelican Brief? Do I need to sober up and take back the reigns?

Yup - Lonzo #1 fan.

Or you have to go for Sacto next year.

And then you have to hope the clippers are terrible for 19/20

And then hope Memphis are terrible for those years also.
I think everyone likes Sacto.

I'm really really glad you took the high ground about teams owing other teams picks.

You can always trust Boston fans for the moral high ground.

What the **** are you talking about

No one needs to sober up

Ok I'll tend to PB

Would be robbing Peter to pay Paul IMO.

Middleton is a great foil for Giannis, and Henson has been travelling OK all things considered. Wouldn't risk it if I were the Bucks.

They do need help in the middle, but they used their best trade capital on Bledsoe. They need depth above all else, Brogdon is the only one on their bench who actually helps them. Perhaps they could trade Jabari + Delly to Utah for Favors.
Will be interesting to see what they do with Parker.

Don't think he's a very good fit with Giannis at all unless he seriously develops as an off-ball player.

Interesting that Wiggins and Jabari went before Embiid

Really?

Embiid was injured at draft time and expected to be out for the full season. I don't know his full history, but I think he had a fair few injuries as a junior.

There have been a bunch of big men ruined by injuries. Was a huge risk.

I know why Embiid went third

I guess interesting was the wrong word :p

What would be interesting to surmise is who Philly would have taken if they picked first

I follow college AND the NBA.
Try not to pull bigs out that had injuries leading into the draft.

Nerlens Noel was a pick 6 in the draft. Thoughts?

Embiid had injuries in college, foot fracture but still played half the college season, hence the high draft pick. None of us are scouts and get to see all of the intricacies.

So looking at everything retrospectively is asinine.

I'm not really following your post.

I was replying to someone that indicated that he should have gone 1. At the time (with his injuries), he slid down the draft. Big men with injuries at college are a big risk, so he slid.

Not very far though.

Gordon @ 4 is having a breakout season

Don't really think he had any issues up until the end of his college career. He wasn't even playing basketball till a late age.

He had a back injury leading into the draft and then the stress fracture in his foot came from nowhere and the slide was real. I was really hoping he'd somehow fall to Boston at 6. I was all in on him after watching some of his highlights in Feb 2014 and seeing him dream shake around some helpless defender.

I reckon they'd say Embiid but I couldn't see any team passing up on Wiggins for a enormous big man with foot issues. Bowie, Yao, Oden etc are all case studies that have left a lasting impact on the league.

Injuries to big men hurt draft stock.
(Nerlens was the 1 pick before he dislocated his knee)
Not sure how that was hard to follow.

Been watching this seasons college ball?

I wanted Wiggins pretty bad in 2014, mostly because we'd just drafted Nerlens the year before who'd missed the season, wasn't even the biggest Wiggins guy but thought he and Nerlens could have been pretty sweet together. A lot of people say the Embiid pick was an easy one for us to make based on ceiling but I'm not sure the majority of teams would have after already getting a guy the year before who missed a year and knowing Embiid was going to miss most of the season (which turned all of it and then another) as well then trading with Orlando to take Saric, another guy who wouldn't be over for at least 2 years.

I agree. That's why I said it

nah. I don't like college bball.
2 Bigs projected top 3 the other is a Euro called Doncic, I highly suggest you check him out. one is injured (he is really good) watch him slide in the mock drafts though,

I wasn't joking that I thought I was at Oracle when I watched the Clips v the Dubs. At least 75% of the people there were cheering the Warriors.
Yup, so heaven help watching a game vs say, Orlando, in there. It would be a ghost town.

Lakers vs Dubs was heaps of fun. Plenty of Dubs three too but still more Lakers made a really fun atmosphere and plenty of banter.
