Au contraire.
Good news.

He's overall been good for the club in many aspects but has taken us as far as he can. Unlike Lewis and his family he's not independently billionaire wealthy to too his own money in so there was little left for him to do.

I know nothing about his successor so we're all on this ride together I guess.

Wow, wasn't expecting that.

Has it already been announced who's taking over? I'd click on that link but eww, Spurs. I don't want that history appearing on my computer.

Peter Charrington. Doesn’t even sound like a real person.

Holy shit

Sounds like dignified resignation as opposed to being publicly sacked. Pushed out in effect.

Multiple generations of the majority owner involved does suggest no sale imminent.

Joe Lewis had no interest in the club so left it to Levy. But it sounds like his family want to keep the club, like Joe don't expect anything financially out of it. But unlike him they're willing to invest money into it if they think it'll help on field results. Some of our activity this summer compared to what weve done other seasons we had CL football shows it. No Ryan Sessengon / Tyler Dibling signing for the future, its Kolo Muani and Kudus. No punt on a Ndombele type it's a 30 year old Palhinha.

Levy did a good job from about 2001-2008 and then he couldn't take us to another level. The Arnesen, Comoli and Jol appointments were the turning points for the good. After that we yo-yo'd between good and bad decisions time and time again

The stadium was a great achievement but lets not hide the fact he tried to move us to east London for economic reasons. I'll give him a pass on the blow out of cost and time it took and naming rights deal as he secured amazing lending terms.

I think the recruitment these past two windows has seen a huge shift in type of project we are developing.

Ive said this in our club thread, we were spending £50m on B grade guys who could go to the next level (occasionally). We are now spending that on kids, Archie Grey, Tel etc.

We are spending for the future. Just hope we dont go down the Chelsea path of having more loanees than first team players.

That was the businessman in Levy. Tried to save a penny by doing the bare minimum and what would help his pockets lined more.

The stadium was advertised as taking us to the next step but the reinvestment has been minimal. Hasn't it? The wages stat is unreal compared to revenue. Has the stadium actually been named yet?

What do you mean about the stadium moving to east London?

Was open to move the club to the Olympic stadium to beat WHU but there's conjecture. Many believe it was a tactic merely to put pressure on the Haringey council.

Stadium proposal had been rejected. Then the London riots occurred and HC realised they needed a club in the area more than a club needed them. Proposal was then approved.

Even last summer it was the Levy mode of going young and it cost ange his job in the end. Guys like Bergvall, Tel, Odobert, Gray aren't expected to be first team within 12 months. Its a punt for the future that 2 or 3 of the 4 come off.

This season its a good mix of age profile. Simons is young but is from a different level

Levy, ENIC, Ange. Who cares. It's what excites me that as a football club we've woken up to the fact that what we were doing wasn't working.

Similarly to Essendon, forcing the kids to play early due to injuries hopefully fast tracks what we know about Bergval, Grey, Tel etc.

How can you say in one breath that what you're doing wasn't working and then say that playing younger players should hopefully prove the right approach long term? If playing them was right, then what Ange was doing was right?

it is different to what we have done before. Obviously the top floor (management) were inpatient with Ange who proved he could win anyways with a paper thin squad.

The squad looks very different to what it did even 4 years ago. We were loaning out developing players like Tangy N'Dombele (25), Lo'Celso (25), Carter Vickers (21), Whiteman (22) where as now, we are loaning out Vuskovic (18), Moore (17), Phillips (19), Min Hyeok-Yang (19) etc.

We've always tried to buy B grade players with the capability of A graders without the consistency. Some have worked, most feel like they haven't and we get stuck with them then scramble to get wages off the bill in anyway. This targeted approach is different and seems structured and longer term. The one thing I am disappointed about is Ange, who is a good development coach of younger talents, won't see the fruits of this squad build.

I read on Wikipedia that Spurs proposed knocking down London Stadium and building a dedicated football stadium at the site. I've not been to the ground but it seems like a lot of Hammers fans are a long way from the pitch. Perhaps a better job was done on converting the City of Manchester stadium from an athletics arena.

Isn't London Stadium still used for Athletics?

City's ground is permanently football.
