I can see where WR is coming from, in that it can be disrespectful to celebrate in front of the opposition manager etc. But does Conte do that? I don't recall so.

Also a football manager, a game that has passion and emotions, isn't really a comparable position to a leader of a country.

Welchy saying anyone else is acting like a tit is a bit rich anyhow

Glen you are obviously a refined Australian - explains your love of the simpsons. The others must be slightly more bogan

If he celebrates that way for a 3rd or 4th goal to put them up by 3 or 4 then I can see WR's point. Not sure if he does or not. Just saying its OTT at those scorelines. Is that what Mou had a go at him about at one point?

Yeah.

Look, I think a winning goal in a big game, when there is such an emotional build-up then fine - I can excuse that, even applaud it. But after every goal the way he has been? Disrespectful, uncouth call it what you want, but it's not on

I've known a lot of Aussies in my time, and I understand why you all love this side of Conte because it speaks to the "in your face" nature of your inherent psyche. However, those of us who are a tad more refined, do find such outward displays of emotion, particularly by those who lead, as undignified and ill mannered. You speak of passion, that's fine, but you should be able to exert some measure of control over it. I think this disagreement is what you would call a culture clash to be honest

Refined. :D

Bogan-boy

I don't really see what a person's class has to do with their passion at a sporting event, but if you want to name call as per usual go ahead.

Ive explained it in the posts above. Celebrating like a campaigner when you are a figure of authority is what civilised people call unrefined. Those with less class would seek to oppose this assertion, which is what you are doing, hence your boganess

I love how someone will claim to be refined yet insult everyone who disagrees with him.
There is nothing wrong with being a bogan or chav or whatever. I'm just highlighting why there is a disagreement on this.

You know football is a working class sport don't you?

You must be desperately bored if you've resorted to picking a fight over whether or not people can celebrate goals.

Not really a working class sport anymore. It's not the 1950's.

You are the one picking a fight, I was just making my opinion on it.

all about that narrative....
Last serviceable year for a lot of United stars that was.

Fergie didnt give a **** about the squad he left the chosen one.

Nothing that the vast majority of United supporters werent saying at the time and some years before.

No one would be daft enough to suggest it was out of disinterest though.

I'll admit to being very frustrated by his lack of investment towards the end but when you look at how much money we've spent since and seeing how poorly it has been invested for the most part (under Moyes and LVG) I'm starting to think he had a point.

Really?

I love the A-League and obviously I'm a City fan, but that was one of the most boring games of A-League football I've seen. The tempo and intensity was poor because of the heat and both teams regularly misplaced passes and had little quality.

It wasn't high on quality, have seen much better from the A League (and much worse as well). But I don't need to see a heap of quality to enjoy my football (would have given up years ago if that was the case)

Just was an enjoyable night, good weather and a good first up experience.

We had the goat in charge. We underestimated the drop off.

It's like going from Jordan to Lebron.

One is peerless, the other is good but still a pretender.
