Isn't Curtin old people radio?

I like the stations that continually play new and different stuff (proper music, not top 40 crap).

And the presenters on JJJ are a lot more interesting than the white bread, 'gotta appeal to the soccer moms' presenters on commercial radio. Commercial radio is depressing.

I don't listen to the radio much but yes old people radio sounds like a good description. At least they play a variety of old stuff, not just the same handful of Eagles songs like 96fm. Just had a look at the weekday programming and man it sounds awful. Still better than Triple J though.

Capital 101.7 is my favourite radio station

great mix of old songs, in between ads for dentures and drawn out weather reports.

101.7 used to be a pretty heavy rap station.

When I was in Atlanta there was a radio station that had the blackest rap you will ever hear on all the time.

I actually find the Christian pop (mass produced in the US, mostly) they play these days to be mind-numbing. They changed their playlist a few years ago, used to have a bit more rock (Christian and non). But I'm glad they're around.

The media have a rule where you have to play X amount of Australian artists, like TV with X amount of Australian shows

Nova 93.7 dobbed on GrooveFM for not playing the requred % of Australian artists, the owner bailed quickly and was just a bit rutterless untill it eventually collapsed

They then dobbed again when in the space of 3 months a couple of days didnt hit the quota, eventually fell apart, this was in case of Nova had been done for multiple breaches and were just pissy that a community based radio station could get away with a couple of times while the big commercial station which got done for multiple failures thought it was unfair
