Perth bars need to become places talk openly about human fears and dreams and secrets with each other, and not just places we talk about footy scores or try to get a cheap ****.

If we are going to be civilized.

Regional WA (including Bunbury) and NT would be an eye opener for some on here with regards to drink driving.

Having five or so pints and driving home was very common in the 80s it seems. Maybe even up to the 90s. Back then it was ‘pissy driving’ and everyone lost their licence for it.

Nowadays if you lost your licence for it you’d be sheepish even around your best mates. It’s great advertising, a sign of the times, and a big shift in mentality.

If you drink and drive you're a bloody idiot... if you make it home you're a bloody hero.

I've heard that one plenty of times. I know a few people who chance driving after a couple (the old 'I'm fine, but I could be 0.05'), but I can't think of anyone who drives properly drunk. It was definitely more acceptable in previous generations. But that's how baby boomers roll, do as I say and not as I do/did. It's not worth the risk, though.

The thing I love about Perth most is it is not Sydney or Melbourne.

Boom!

And I live here, which makes the place all the more sweet.

SWEET!!!!!!

I drove home from the pub today smashed after 6 hours in a shout, but I’m in a 3rd world country so it doesn’t matter if I run someone over, right?
Drunken posting.

Right on.:thumbsu:

Wow who would have thought that filthy manual labourers are pissheads, need that booze as fuel to go home and smack your wife Jac'Inta in the face for burning your four and twenty guinness beef pie again?

Jacinta's these days run nations.

Otherwise known as the dance of progress.

Two steps back, three forward.

First time I really noticed it but seemed to be an increase in cops on motor bikes this morning patrolling the CBD looking for people on mobile phones in their car.

Saw 3-4 of them trawling the Terrace and Wellington Street

I love how people say revenue raising for traffic related fines. The cash from that is such a small amount, last time I looked it was less than $100m a year, the govt gets that from one weekend of home sales via stamp duty.

Agree. Using a phone while driving is dangerous.

Looking at your phone for two seconds while sitting at a red light that's going to take another few minutes to change is not.

Boggles my mind they've captured people watching stuff like Netflix while driving
