Probably not, depends on the cop as some do love a power trip.

Maybe my recollection is wrong but I don't think anyone has ever been fined for visiting their parents by themselves. Surely common sense will prevail - they won't care unless you're having a rager.

It's one of the rules. All you have to say is you're providing care to your elderly parent. Cleaning the house, fixing a blown lightglobe, recording an episode of mash. You don't need to provide any evidence.

  • provide care and support to a relative or other person who has particular needs

I've seen on social media there's a music festival that's gone ahead down south, packed with people who travelled down there from Perth attending still, lots without masks in posts I've seen

Hearing rumours it may be a 14 day lockdown.

Its obviously unconfirmed
Was always going to be a two week lock down once there was a case of community transfer. Not sure Westralians this time around will be forgiving of McGowan though, how come NSW, QLD and Vic can have small numbers of community transfer yet have short lockdowns (or none at all). Is the state government that inept at tracing?

As long as he has an 82% approval rating and the support of mining companies, lockdowns will be his first option every time

Also how ****ing surreal is it, that we'll be one of the last countries to be fully vaccinated? My mate married a yank and moved to Oklahoma with her, her entire family are Jesus freaks and they spend every night holding hands saying grace, going to church every Sunday, he and his wife had their second Pfizer shot almost a month ago, they are 'fully vaccinated' yet us here are waiting for our first shot? Probably late year or early next?

It’s not unusual in a city our size to be across lots of areas

Friday I was north perth, Bayswater, Warwick, carine, Belmont, wattle Grove, hamersley and finally Leederville

the interest for me was the number of eating establishments- maybe a food critic 😂

Maybe collecting 'protection' money for the mob?

Same. Bit of organised chaos in regards to finding a service.
It was all pretty awkward on our street. Last year we all listened to the same service with speakers and had planned to do the same again. Two households were already outside early with it on when we walked out. It was very confusing though because we were trying to say good morning and stuff to them but turned out we had actually walked out during the ABC minute silence lol. Then a couple of minutes before 6am another few households all came out, we heard the last little bit and then the news started.

Pretty disappointed tbh, not very happy with ABC after they had been advertising it as 6am. I've seen a lot of people on Facebook had similar experiences.

The 80s just called to say it wants its word back.

It shouldn't be though, have faith in the tracing, like every other Australian state has done so.

suppose he’s just sticking to what’s worked for him. Think Qld is the same although with the last outbreak I think they adopted a wait and see attitude

it’s frustrating that’s for sure and the inconsistencies of what you can and can’t do and when you can and can’t and then the BS backtracking with the whole “if you headed away you should be indoors” - it’s all over the shop

He cant have a full on outbreak as no hospital beds. Nothing surer to drop approval ratings as people not getting health care.
He knows it.
And he knows WA people love a boom and surplus to crow about. Outbreak will affect mining and stop that too.

Only New South Wales, and even then they have done localised closures.

Every other state upon encountering an escape from hotel quarantine has implemented a wide lockdown in some form.
