Part 4 is here:

Anyone know of any good locations to shoot some photos which would go with a vintage theme?

Appreciate any ideas.

We could have a 150k stadium that we fill and it would still go to sydney.

Its not like we have a brand new stadium and in a better time zone for the majority of countries involved in the competition.

That car going into the water at south mole was terrible. Surprised no one attempted to dive in and get the woman out. I know there was wind and a strong current but in those situations you just do what you have to dont you?

will be interesting to see if timeslots are set by Australian officials or the ICC, and whether the games in perth will be true night games starting at 730 WST

With the tournament being held in October you would think a lot of the grounds would get quite dewy in the evening.

Assess the risk - no point in more deaths resulting.

We would all like to think we could do something but the reality is what could a person have done. As harsh as it sounds, how did he get out but not stayed to assist her - could he have done more.

It’s just a tragedy

Seriously? He's 80.

I am aware of that and it does sound appalling but all I’m saying is that he was already in the water. For all I know he may have done all he could.

I'm amazed he was able to save himself at that age.
Not sure it's appalling as much as it's an ill conceived notion.. to put it kindly.

Fair call

Perth is a nice place to live but why would you come here for a holiday?
A lot of domestic tourists really like Perth. I don't care about King's Park but people from Melbourne find a park like that overlooking a kinda crappy, second-rate US city looking skyline to be pretty unreal. People generally skip over the fact that Perth is dead because they're only here for a few days and do Rottnest, Freo, Swan Valley for a day instead and get a kick out of that.

But there's an issue with the WA Tourism board basically advertising the same three places (Perth, Broome, Kimberley) for the last 20 years.

As for those old codgers down in Freo, yeah the old reverse-not-accelerate thing surely but... how the **** do you go in the water from South Mole?! Most of those rocks are genuinely massive and they're pretty wide before they hit the water. I have no idea how it didn't get jagged at some point and have no idea how loud it would've been when it didn't. Pretty shit tho: was a nice night in Freo, 7pm, heapsa people would've been going for walks and having fish and chips out there. Sad.

(Has anyone been to Cicarello's or Kailis in the last... well, since I was 14. Is it any good anymore?)

They are a cyclist so they should be on the cycle path which continues across from the lights. There's no need to be on the road at this point. If I was riding my bike that's exactly where I'd be.

If they "must" ride on the road then to turn right they should be in one of the right turning lanes, preferably the left one so people can actually pass them.
There’s a good reason some cyclists don’t ride on the provided cycle path. Because whenever you come to a road, no matter how big or small, you have to stop and give way to the more important cars. People act like cycle paths are a favour but they simply reiterate the heirarchy. In your illustration, the cyclist would be expected to get off his bike and cross five lanes of traffic rather than stop at the lights and turn right with the cars? I know which I’d prefer.

Now if he ran the lights, he’s still a campaigner.

Four of the six mens' games start at 7pm WST. The other two begin at 2pm WST, both of those games feature Afghanistan. Every ground has a few 2pm local time games so they can play two matches in one day.

In terms of fixturing, I think the ICC is responsible as it is an ICC tournament, Cricket Australia would get little or no say.

why does most cricket talk revolve around shit outside the sport? fixtures, nsw, selection, egos, stats, celebrities...

Stats aren't separate from the sport. Stats are everything in cricket.

I thought making runs and bowling people out was?

Cricket is the most white bred, middle class sport there is now. ****in cannot stand it.
