Snakes are out in this warmer weather. I went for a 20 km ride this afternoon and saw three of them, just sunning themselves on the cycle path.

Dugites I think, but I kinda just scooted past as fast an I could, didn't stop to check. Luckily they were all on the edge of the path and not right in the middle so I had room to ride around them.

Yes, that is why I suspect they were out on the pavement, try to get warm.

I didn't notice the first one until I was just about right on top of it, I thought it was a stick so I was heading to go around it anyway. I was never going within striking distance of them, don't you worry.

I remember being a kid riding down the beach on the bike track, thinking I was so cool going down a hill with no hands and ahhh **** that's a huge tiger snake! Middle of the ****ing track, sitting there, pretty big too. I put my hands on the bars and it went left and right and right and left again and I nearly jatzy'd myself and somehow nearly stacked it but didn't. Didn't feel too cool after that and in the ten or so years since I haven't ride no handed.

Nah, once forensics have come the cops are pretty much done, so get the repairs/improved security sorted.

I assume you mean you disturbed them?

Also, speak to your insurer and they might have a preferred supplier, which will be easier and quicker, potentially.

Yep. I went at one who dropped their bag and then evaded me. The other guy got away with his bag sadly.

When it happened to me the bloke dropped his phone in our yard. I didn't find it until he came back the day after snooping around. Made for a much better result than otherwise...

It's boring as **** living in the country but at least I don't have to generally worry about this sort of shit. Don't even lock the back door when I go out for the day.

Easy access to back yard is my guess, opposite to one side of the house is public land, and our fence is quite short too. Plus the first time they stole the house and car keys so I think they came back to try their luck with them. Thankfully the locks were all changed. But this is all surreal, been living in the same house for decades now and only been burgled one other time.
