That there are different covid rules for different jurisdictions in the same country with the same medical advice, making jokes about the situation wasn't where it got political.

We have to be able to laugh at the crazy and wacky reality we live in.

If the States are advised by their own health officers it isn't inconceivable that the WA one would say something different to the NSW one. Heck, even within the medical community doctors have different ideas on pandemic control. Dr Fauci is revered by the left in the US but Trump sought his own advice from his own experts when he was President.

None of us in the office wear them at our desks. When we mill about however they come back on.

I haven't seen or spoken to anyone wearing a mask because they think it makes a difference. People are only doing it because (a) Supreme Leader McGowan said so, and (b) they don't want to be that guy. I walked past a guy at his desk yesterday wearing one on his forehead like an eye mask he had just lifted. No one gave a ****, because he was wearing it. Go back to 12 months ago and someone with a smokers' cough in public would have everyone running for the hills.

I've been quietly concerned about the boy who cried wolf strategy for a while. People just don't take this arbritrary crap seriously when there is no community transmission, and when we do get transmission it will spread quickly.

It helped that he was infectious during the initial hard lockdown - less work required to contact trace.
