I find the basketball singlets a bit odd, I've got a couple NBA singlets in my wardrobe that i like wearing around the house over summer but i don't reckon i would buy a PAFC one. I'm sure they'll get a few sales but i doubt they will be massively popular like the New Era caps.

I'll take a stab in the dark here and say the average person who goes for this sort of stuff spends more money on official club merch than you do at a ratio of at least 10 to 1. In other words, this stuff sells, and the people who like it are the people who are happy to throw $120 down on a particular item at the drop of a hat.
It's one thing to whinge incessantly about stuff you don't like, but why? The club offers plenty of alternatives to cater to numerous tastes. I'm sure the Port Store bargain bin would contain enough stuff to keep you happy at any given time, so everyone wins. Or, why don't you throw up some of your ideas.

I don't like that type of merch (basketball etc.) but I couldn't give a shit if the club stocks it so long as it sells.

They would've done OK with the teal guernsey, I didn't see any leftovers last time I was in the store. Unlike the botched SBS throwback, which seemed to lurk on the discount rack for ages.

The teal guernsey is worn by the players and represents the club on the field. Supporter merch is neither here nor there - if you wear a teal cap who cares.

I thought the teal guernsey looked okay for a predominantly teal guernsey but if it didn't sell too well i think they should ditch it and have a Silver with Black and White Chevron as our pre season guernsey. I'd buy one of them because i reckon it would look pretty cool.

The point was we should have very different standards for what we wear on the field and what we sell to supporters as merchandise. The teal guernsey was below par by the on field standard and perfectly acceptable by the merchandise standard.
