Had the same issue when I dropped mine in to a glass of diet coke. Don't make things like they used too.

Mine fell into a glass of scotch, that didnt help it work either

Dropped my iphone plenty of times onto concrete and not even a scratch

I will admit though everytime I do drop it, it takes me 5 minutes to build up the guts to pick it up and see if the screens cracked

My iPhone has been pretty much bullet proof I am so clumsy so I drop it at least once a week. Hope now I have said it this will continue......touch wood.
