Not sure if this is the Rucci article that the caller said he got wrong but in it he says the GWS can't get Tippet on Tuesday arvo.

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport...urt-tippett-open/story-e6frecoc-1226486840084

But Tippet if really wants to be in Sydney and close to extended family and friends, then the options are

1. Trade to Sydney
2. go pick 1 in the PSD - can name his price - which can be ridiculous and GWS can baulk at it, or if they take it up then the drive is only 30 minutes early in morning to Bondi to go surfing and is still close to family and friends.
3. if GWS fill their list at ND or baulk at Tippet with pick 1, the GC pick him up with pick 2.

option 2 and 3 Adelaide get nothing.
I'm pretty sure that GWS can't take him as an uncontacted player due to their taking Phil Davis last year. May be wrong on that though.

daylight savings is shitful

i don't mind them moving the clocks forward but can't they move everything else forward too?

No only the AFL legal department knew what was going on.

But the AFL has ruled that the Giants can indeed draft Tippett in the pre-season draft - even though he is from the same club as Davis - which means that the Suns can’t simply grab him for nothing in that way.

The only way Tippett could cross to the Suns, without them giving up something in a trade (or a pick in the national draft), would be if he put himself in the PSD and the Giants passed on him, perhaps because he placed too high a price on his head, or they wanted another player. The most likely scenario is that the Suns will seek to use homecoming Victorian Josh Caddy as part of a three way trade for Tippett, should he chose the Suns.

The AFL’s head of game development and legal, Andrew Dillon, said the rule that would have stopped a second Crows player from joining GWS via the PSD applied only to last year. This year, there was no restriction on the Giants picking a player like Tippett from the Crows, because their position in that draft was based on their ladder position. ’’It’s a normal draft based on ladder position.’’

Last year, the Giants could pick several players consecutively in the PSD, before the other clubs, provided they weren’t from the same club as one of their previous out of contract signings. This year, they are treated like every other club, even though they can still sign out of contract players from rival clubs separately.

That makes sense to me REH.

Have GWS announced any uncontracted signings for this year?
Obviously Pearce wasn't one of them, as per the rumours, but surely they landed a couple more in their window.

bomber,

Haven't you heard?

Every uncontracted player in the AFL, NRL, NFL and NHL is going to Richmond this year?

This shit is the best showcase of SA football?

Thats the worst quarter of football ive seen in years.

Unless your team is involved, watching the SANFL grand final is no better than listening to 5aa or reading the Advertiser IMO.
