El_Scorcho has been into it.

I've barely picked up FO4. I basically have to force myself to play it, so boring. Maybe I'll save it for a rainy day. Actually right now I want to play KOTOR lol Star Wars fever.

Lol i played through both kotors before the movie release. They're great.

I know this is kinda the Fallout thread, but has anyone played Pillars of Eternity? I just got it and have played about 20 mins (no spoilz) and am SO STOKED so far. Baldur's Gate II is basically my favourite RPG/game of all time and this is basically just BG with a newer graphics engine.

Ssoooooo goooooddd.

I won't spoil anything, but more than just paying homage to the likes of Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, it's an absolutely brilliant game in it's own right. It stands up against anything.

During dialogue it will show you options that aren't available to you because you don't have enough of a certain stat, and the world is super reactive to your decisions. It would be very different on a different play through.

Have fun!

I've been pretty bored playing it tbh. Don't reckon I'll get the whole way through, unless it gets more interesting from here. The settlement system is so pointless.

They've tried to do too much imo. They either needed a bit more dev time or just to keep it simple. The new features don't add anything to the game, which is unfortunate. It's a good platform for another one though, but 3 modern games in, the theme is starting to feel tired.

I actually had New Vegas for a couple of years before I got into it. I have 3 different play throughs going in FO4, just starting to get into the settlements now. So many undiscovered places tho'....just can't stop

i am pretty pumped. i accidentally started it in that mode where if i die i lose my save. i think i'll just keep playing until i die. i don't expect to get far

did you play the ascension version of bg2 throne of bhaal? one of my favourite video game experiences. an actual final battle that is actually difficult! the amount of hours i poured into that, so brilliant.

that feel the first time you visit the crazy horse

What class did you start as? I reckon to get through the Trials of Iron mode you'd need to play a tank. Casters are a bit squishy and I lose them from time to time. By level 6 though my fighter just doesn't go down unless I underestimate a fight and don't bother with buffs etc.

I didn't play the ascension version. I've had a few good fights in this, some where i've been absolutely destroyed on the first go and had to enchant weapons and come up with set plays to get myself into the fight. Real time with pause isn't quite as good as pure turn based, but i'm really enjoying the combat!

I spent about 20 minutes in the character select screen. It's one of my favourite parts of the game haha

I actually started as a death godlike wizard, so i don't expect to make it far because i'm so flimsy.

They actually re-released BG2 on steam as an 'enhanced edition' a while back and it's definitely worth a replay. I sunk a TON of hours into it.

Wizards are amazing after a few levels. And in this game it's a genuine option to roll high resolve and wear heavy armour and be a bit of a tank yourself. A lot of your spells will affect friendlies as well as enemies, so being close to the front line isn't always a bad thing. You do get a Wizard companion if you want it though.

I went with Monk which i'm a little bored by, but he's coming good with his abilities now and making a difference in battles. Wish i'd gone with cipher or barbarian.

Not a good night for that city.

Raptors came back from a 16-point third quarter deficit only to see DeRozan's last-second half-court gamewinner waved off because Kyle Lowry had already signalled timeout.

Lowry then missed the resultant buzzerbeater so it went into overtime, where the undermanned and exhausted Hornets - who had been destroyed in Orlando the night before - blew them out by 10. Obviously.

I, of course, was on the Raptors.
Was watching that game. Did lol.

I played through KoTOR a bit a few years ago but didn't really get far. I got off the first planet or section I think. Should I play 1 or 2 actually another question do you have to play 1 to play 2?

I would say yes, you need to know what happened in the first to understand the second. I reckon the first is better than the second in any case.

Never played KOTOR 1, loved KOTOR 2. Have part 1 in the Steam library, just waiting for a cold day to play it so the laptop won't overheat.

KotOR is one of those games for me (like Deus Ex) that I replay every two years or so. Awesome game.
Haven't done much gaming since the N64 days but downloaded KOTOR a month back on the recommendation of a few on this board; been the first game to capture that "addictive" feeling for a long time, cracker game. Love that 5050 decisions influence so much of the game, bit of a choose your own adventure.

ps not finishes yet so no spoilers pls feel ;)

I'll +1 this, i find that the game is boring.

I'm plowing through it out of habit and bits and pieces are intriguing, but it seems too repetitive, disjointed and inorganic.

The excitement of levelling up still isn't there without the skillpoints or 'surprise' of perks that become available. I still find myself forgetting to apply the level-up and hunting around to find what perks you're eligible for on the entire board is painful, I've often lost interest and selected the first thing I'm eligible for that seems remotely useful.

Like, why would I max out hacking (never get locked out after using all your attempts) when I can already hack any terminal, get 4 guesses and can back out and try again on fifth down? Pointless.

The other thing I can't believe is still a thing after playing three instalments of the Fallout series, if I shoot an unhelmeted Raider in the face with a 10mm round or above, it should be an automatic killshot or at the very least instant incapacitation/pacification. They shouldn't be able to shake it off and keep coming.

You should play both. I don't like Star Wars and I don't particularly even like gaming but both of those games are amazing.

You don't have to play 1 to play 2, but it helps. And 1 is probably better anyway.

It turns out Revan was Malak's father the whole time!

From what I've read, I prefer the plot of 2.

The story is more mature and the character is Kreia alone is breathtaking.
I can't believe as someone who plays video games and loves Star Wars you haven't played KOTOR

Kreia is a brilliant character, but the story outside of her is average. The other villains get very little to no explaination or screentime. Darth nihilus is criminally underused in terms of character development.

I've never been keen on pure RPGs, for instance the first time I hired KOTOR 2 on Xbox I spent more time playing the Republic Commando demo included.

However, once I finally sat down to have a genuine crack at on PC it was a slow burn that began to hook me more after each session.

Here's hoping that happens again.
