You sure putting a giant dope factory in lizbef is a good idea?

Nah public transport is great between 7-9am, 5-7pm Monday to Friday.

That's your window
It's fine earlier then 7am, you get more blue collar workers then, but that's employed people who start earlier. The few times I've been on 9-11ish its lots of pensioners, but after that  And the late night bus or train. Sheesh. Except the Belair line, that stays relatively normal even late at night.

Jokes aside my mate who has an AU would always have trouble with the camshaft

Sent from my Lumia 800 using Tapatalk

I've had the au for a few years, my brother in law had it 2 before me and this is the first time it has broken down.

Anyone here a mechanic? My AU will crank but won't fire, I've replaced the fuel pump and its getting spark so I've got nfi.
You with the RAA? Give them a call and they'll test it for you. Distributor or ignition coil is common.

They tested the spark, they seem to think its a fuel issue, they put a little petrol in somewhere and it fired but it stopped when the fuel ran out.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it might be a clogged fuel filter, as it's under the car that's parked in front of a curb, it's in a campaigner of a spot.

They're pretty easy to get to I thought? Underneath, half way along the passengers side.

Sounds like fuel pressure regulator to me. With the info I have anyway.

Thanks for the replies, try looking for a problem you get a million issues with a million different answers.

Unfortunately it's stuck outside a mates house and I can't get under it to have a look at anything and I don't have the money for a tow truck.

RAA tow for free, so I take it you aren't a member?

Should we take the word of director Kevin Smith that Rouge One is unbelievably wonderful and I quote "Empire Strikes Back great"?

I'm sure the media everywhere will the say this. Can guarantee the reality will be different though.

Personally I plan to complain every time I see a woman on the screen when I go to the cinema

Does membership benefits start as soon as you pay? i'm looking at the plus membership thats $12 a month but theres no point if i have to wait a month to use the towing benefits.

Luke if you have a pair of locking pliers, lock them on the fuel return hose. Then turn the car on (but don't crank) 10-20 times for about 3 seconds to prime the line and build up the line pressure. Try starting it again.

Be aware, the car will run rich and probably flood as the inlet pressure may double causing twice the fuel necessary and causing the injectors to overfuel but it will determine if the fuel regulator is the issue. You can do this under the bonnet. No need to crawl underneath.

You have spark and some fuel so in my experience if the pump is working (also simple to determine if you have the tool to disconnect the line) the pressure regulator is almost always the case. Low fuel pressure = too lean to start.

AU's are 14-18 years old. You'd expect to replace an FPR at this time.
