If Yeo is intentional, low impact and high contact then Hawkins’ has to be too.

Intentional strike (he has a bloody wind up on it ffs), contact was high, impact was higher than Yeo’s so can’t be insufficient force. Same grading, same punishment, have Hawkins challenge for all I care but they have to be graded the same.

No Tomahawk, absolutely cannot sanction one and not the other.

Cant help but feel this guy has it in for us ever since he was forced to go coast to coast defending his Nic Nat suspension.
Easiest decision he's ever had to make.

That Ablett against North from last year was deemed to be insufficient force to warrant a suspension.

"AFL match review officer Michael Christian said there was "insufficient force" to classify Ablett's hit on Sam Wright as a reportable offence."

Schofield got a week for a deliberate headbutt with what looked to be less force than Hawkins' elbow. All that matters is that it's deliberate it seems so we'll see if they have some consistency tomorrow. Personally I think all three were worthy of a fine only.

Two players draw blood from head butting each other and it is "insufficient force" Schoey cops a week for barely making contact, still dumb but caused no injury and definitely didn't draw blood.

Yeo does what every midfielder does every week when they are "blocked" of the ball and continually harassed and gets a week.

Mcstay holds his ground standing still and a player drops his head and cannons into him and Mcstay cops a week????

How the hell can anyone with half a brain in the AFL management not see how much of a farce this MRP is.

Have a look at the state Brisbane and West Coast's opponents are from next round. It tells the story.

You don't understand the difference between careless and intentional.

Hawkins may be able to get away with careless given they are in a pack around the ball.

What Schofield did was just stupid.

It's outcome based, unless it's optics based, unless it's a "star", unless...

The MRO/MRP is simply another equalisation tool in the hands of the VaFL.

FreeTK is dead right that our blokes doing silly things open them up to scrutiny but to pretend the actual process has any basis in an equitable, consistent process is patently laughable.

Also...Tribunal Night Thread incoming!!!!!

I guess the only upside is we get some entertainment out of an MRP thread on the only night of the month that won't have the footy on.

Does anyone know the Michael Gleeson/Michael Christiansen v David Grace H2H record?

I'd like a detailed analysis of their previous encounters :moustache:

they'll argue careless but looks intentional - hes looking at the target of his elbow at and just before impact.

you seriously gotta wonder what eagles are doing behind closed doors to stop this shithousery mrp

Doesn't matter if it was an open hand.

Doesn't matter if it landed on the chest first before slipping up.

He gets off one of 2 ways:

(1) No high contact

(2) Insufficient force

The vision is grainy but I am 80% sure Yeo's hand clipped Wills's chin. So I think he only gets off on (1) if they can get Wills to give evidence that he wasn't actually hit and he was just moving his head back to avoid the hit or play for a free. Unlikely, but not impossible.

More likely they will run with (2) and pull up a few similar examples where the MRP/Tribunal have found contact to be insufficient force.

Probably got his attention drawn to it by an ’anonymous’ (i.e Collingwood) informant. The incident was so insignificant and irrelevant, apart from Yeo being held by a tagger and not getting a free kick, how else would you pick it up?
