Doran just dismissed the 5minute delay as a "conspiracy theory". As if the caller is still on dialup internet.

The Super Bowl broadcast does have a delay. While sitting in my seat, I would watch the play on the field, then look to the little tv in front of my seat and watch the play on the tv. So, I watched most plays twice.

I never actually counted the delay but would say it was about 10 seconds. I assumed that it was because of the transmission. Also, I think HD takes a bit longer to transmit, so that might have been the issue.

I was following the plays on the NFL website. They have a list of players on either side of the page and Eli Manning's name actually flashed orange a few times, then the play description appeared and the scores changed. Would have been about two minutes before I heard Mark called it live on radio.

SEN would have a 7 or so second delay and I was listening on the web, which is about another 10 second delay, so that may have added to the delay too.

I just can't get my head around the fact a guy can play for two different teams in one season. I guess that happens in NRL, but its usually not a big name.

He didn't plan to. A caller rang up and said "watch this, this is what dreams are made of..." right before Manning made that pass.

I just can't get my head around the fact a guy can play for two different teams in one season. I guess that happens in NRL, but its usually not a big name.

It happens in hoops and baseball. The trade deadlines are great. Often times, teams don't pull the trigger on a deal. With expiring contracts, etc, teams off load contracts they don't want while other teams take on those same contracts because they need the player for the playoff push and/or think they can re-sign them the following season.

Article in todays Herald Sun about football on radio and all of the stations plans for this season.
You might be right about the lack of influence or importance that Program Director Mark Johnson has at Sen.
3AW , MMM all had comments from their Program Directors and Sen had someone that I havent even heard mentioned here , but it wasnt Johnson.
Maybe the station has been reading this and sacked him

Yeah i think he would mainly improve the ratings due to his selling ability.

If people don't tune into SEN because of Eddie they may tune into it because Eddie sells it to them.

One of the most amazing 20-25 minutes of radio I've heard. Great of them to skip the 7:30 news and ad breaks to let Harry tell his story.

One of the most amazing 20-25 minutes of radio I've heard. Great of them to skip the 7:30 news and ad breaks to let Harry tell his story.

did tim and bill get involved in the interiew? maybe something like this:

tim - you play for one of the biggest soccer teams in the world, have you heard of afl football? i think its gonna be a great season, let's have a look at the herald sun footy news

billy - yeah did you guys have a few frothies?

He described the smallest of details on something that happened 50 years ago. Truly amazing and very emotional.
