I think the clearance stats look more impressive than what it really is. I'm sure we have a lot more ruck contests that other teams. Maybe a % stat of how many clearances we get per total contests would be useful.
The second stats is not as misleading. We all know what a workhorse the Captain is. He's likely to end up in the top 3 of the tackle count for the 3rd year in a row.
Sydney
• Leads clearances (36/game), throw-in clearances (16/game), ball-up hit-outs (11/game) and first possession (41/game). Last for kicks (172/game), goals kicked (12/game), marks (74/game) and centre-bounce clearances (11/game).
• Brett Kirk leads effective tackles (58), attempted tackles (98), loose-ball gets (111) and total ball gets (193).
