How happy are they! Good on them. Pepe's header in the 1st half deserved to have been the winner - looked like a classic cup final goal that.

The power of personality. Mourinho watched a shambles from the team he inherited at Barcelona before Christmas.....a few more months of the Special One and we have a sea change. Barcelona are not gone, are still a superb team, but its game on now.

So disappointed about last night, but Real deserved it. We could easily have won had we been able to finish in the second half, but Iker was brilliant. MOM for me was Di Maria, excellent run and cross to set up the goal, and then went 110% and committed himself incredibly well defensively. Was their most dangerous player throughout the game.

We have no bench indeed - Real had Benzema, Adebayor, Higuain and Kaka ready to come on (who will all be competing in training to get playing time in the next few games). What a luxury!

It was largely Real's merit Villa was no good, but he is out of form.

Real must be slightly favourite for the CL now. Today's odds for the Copa were crazy - would've guessed 50/50 but Barcelona paid 1.50 or something and Real 3.30.

We're not at our best, Real have shown they know how to play us and they've got the momentum completely going with them - feelgood factor, motivation and 7 top class players competing for 3 forward positions. Not a bad position to be in.

If anything, I was pleasantly surprised with our 2nd half performance after we clearly had no idea in the 1st, but we lost. Just shows Real don't need to be in the game to score.

Mourinho thanking Cruyff for his beautiful words. He's bloody right to take the piss - Cruyff should just shut up about things like that at this time of the season.

Xavi's complaining only 1 team wanted to play. Well good for you mate, but do something about it. It's not exactly nice to see but Real are effective. Sounds like sore loser talk and it just stresses our incapability. Same goes for some of the reactions of certain players during the game - showing frustration and all. Mourinho will love this.

By the way, Real flew home straight after the game where the players were driven to a fountain while celebrating on top of a bus. Meters before arrival, Ramos accidently dropped the cup and the bus drove over it. Goodbye trophy :thumbsu:

Haha, wow.
:D

Love Sexy Serge. Thick as pig shit.

It was a great match and showed why this game is the biggest in the world. The clash of styles was something to watch and the Special One did it again.

Those Barca twats had no clue what to do in the first half.

had to leave for work just after the ref blew the whistle for the end of the second half. but was following the time updates on soccernet on the tram....was very happy to see real won the cup in the end. looking forward to the champions league ties now, really hoping to see real again triumph

Serg was more then likely just thinking about which perfect 10 model he was going to sleep with that night. Because of this i can forgive him.

Barca's bench has to be their weakest link? As stated above, the talent we had available to come on was not too shabby...

Yeah he was good. Defensive work has improved immensely. That being said, Madrid are a more mentally fragile team than Inter. Everyone's seen the relapse they've suffered this season and I reckon Madrid would do the same should Mourinho leave.

I agree. I suspect Mourinho's boundless vanity would love to see him win the CL, giving Real their 10th title and a cup double before walking away to manchester the next week. This is a nightmare scenario for Real since frankly who can replace him? Inter took Rafa and he made a total pig's dinner of trying to take over.
