Looks to have pretty much succesfully replicated the look of the original.

Whether they have been able to replicate the suspense and overwhelming claustrophobia, will be another thing altogether.

I love the Thing, so I think this is a good idea to make the prequel. I will def watch it. Preview looks good.

Just from a cursory glance at it, it looks like they have tried to remake the original and not make a prequel. Or are they having a bob each way? Either way, I think it will fail to be anywhere near as good as the original.

they are the Norwegians you numnut. If you watch the trailer you can actually see the Norwegian flag flying over their base as the helicopter lands. sheesh

looks like a remake of a remake if you will. Still, have I have always loved John Carpenters '82 remake and the story, even the X-Files episode based on it .
