Not necessarily the case. IIRC the AFL have an agreement in place to play Easter Thursday games at the Gabba, usually Brisbane vs Carlton.

Not according to AW last night, they said its is definitely Richmond v Carlton.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see, as I said I'm not 100% sure about the Lions deal but I do remember reading about it when they first spoke about starting the season a week earlier and how we would have to wait unil round 3 for the Blues game if we wanted it at the MCG because we couldn't play it round 1 and the Easter weekend was committed to playing at the Gabba.

I am in a different boat to most of you. Living near Geelong, i have grown to despise them and their dumb, stupid supporters. I was barracking for Hawthorn.
If I was a Hawthorn, supporter, I wouldn't benconcerned at all over last night. They gave them a 50-point head start and nearly reeled them in. They won't give up that sort of start ever again this year.
Hawks have them easily covered in September this time around.

ya know something there are clubs, like ESS and even HAW in more recent times where after a little success the fans behave like trailer trash that have just won the lottery. Geelong are a club that quietly go about their business and have built a level of excellence almost without parallel in the modern era. No they wont win the flag but you wont find them kicking around in the cellar for 30 years either. i admire and respect what they've achieved and how they just keep on keeping on and it all starts with quality people in all the KEY areas ...don't take that for granted

yeah point taken tugg you live in the epicentre i spose, im taking a broader view of the cross section of cats fans from people i know and meet to what I even see on these forums...i must say putting all that together they have a bit of class compared to a few other sides that have been up there
