You mean aside from the fact that Hunt is only 22 and did one tonight? Plenty of time to inspire the next generation.Correct me if im wrong but is that not the first torp of the year, what a sad state of affairs, how long until dustins son is being drafted. He may be our last great hope to bring it back.
Hunt did it tonight because he had to as the siren had sounded and a drop punt wouldnt have got the distance, id like to see players do it more not just out of necessity. You mean aside from the fact that Hunt is only 22 and did one tonight? Plenty of time to inspire the next generation.
Fair enough, but that has been the case for a very long time. Even in the 80s and 90s I don't recall seeing many torpedo field kicks. They were always best for long bombs for goal when you couldn't make the distance, or when kicking in from defence and you had no short options. I like them too, but they aren't coming back in an in-play sense.Hunt did it tonight because he had to as the siren had sounded and a drop punt wouldnt have got the distance, id like to see players do it more not just out of necessity.
Yeah true mate i just miss dustin banging out 80 metre torps from full back, and i was half joking about his son briniging it back because he is draft age this year i beleive and the same player as his dad.Fair enough, but that has been the case for a very long time. Yeah they aren't coming back, we'll always get the odd one from FB but no one has the balls to launch one at goal.Fair enough, but that has been the case for a very long time. Dusty's bomb in Round One was a torp = 68 metres.Correct me if im wrong but is that not the first torp of the year, what a sad state of affairs, how long until dustins son is being drafted. He may be our last great hope to bring it back.
Sam Butler - Did not attempt the barrel, just handed the ball to the umpire = Fail, delist, 0/10

Even I cheered that on. Amazing goal. Loved it.
