1. Collingwood -- 21-0-1 -- 185.8% -- 84
2. Geelong -- 19-0-3 -- 135.5% -- 76
3. Hawthorn -- 18-0-4 -- 131.4% -- 72
4. Carlton -- 15-1-6 -- 122.2% -- 62
5. West Coast -- 15-0-7 -- 124.3% -- 60

Impressed with your faith in the Hawks (winning our last 7 games) but somehow I doubt it.

I came up with this:

3rd = Hawthorn 66pts (presuming they retain their % advantage over West Coast)
4th = West Coast 66pts
5th = Carlton 60 pts

Where I have awarded 4pts for lock in wins, 2pts for 50/50 games and 0pts for definite loses/byes.

CARLTON 40pts
* COLLINGWOOD (H) 0pts
* ESSENDON (H) 4pts
* NORTH MELBOURNE (A) 4pts
* MELBOURNE (H) 4pts
* FREMANTLE (A) 2pts
* HAWTHORN (H) 2pts
* BYE 0pts
* ST KILDA (H) 2pts

TOTAL 60pts

* BRISBANE LIONS (H) 4pts
* BYE 0pts
* MELBOURNE (H) 4pts
* FREMANTLE (A) 2pts
* NORTH MELBOURNE (H) 4pts
* PORT ADELAIDE (H) 4pts
* CARLTON (A) 2pts
* WESTERN BULLDOGS (H) 2pts
* GOLD COAST (A) 4pts

TOTAL 66pts

WEST COAST 40pts

West Coast are not overrated. A very good side and all their fans have reason to be optimistic. Fantastic forward press and spread killed us ala 2010. They should get better in years to come when they perform well over 4 quarters.

What I know and no one else seems to is if you make a prelim final anything can happen. Eagles should finish top 4, win a home final and possibly pull off an upset. Upsets happen in sport.

Pies need to win at least 2 sudden death games. I can sense a boilover. Can the hawks do the unthinkable again? This time to the pies? Things seem to be falling the hawks way (winning when necessary) Even with injuries they just win the games expected of them. Enough players will return when needed.

Blues are not done with. Stay healthy they can make a prelim, they may fancy themselves against cats.

Geelong need to stay focused and hungry. The most skilled team in the comp may not have the desperation. However if hungry enough, they will win this thing. I think some players get lazy and complacent at times.

-The unjustified hype surrounding West Coast is becoming ridiculous, despite beating Geelong (however only just and at Subi), they are yet to beat or even get close to Collingwood and I am not sold on them at all until they do so. Although their transformation has been pretty good, they are not yet a top 4 side and people are carrying on as though they just won the flag. Have clearly overtaken Carlton as the most overrated side in the comp.

Okay so your basis for us not being a top 4 side is that we can't beat Collingwood? Despite us beating two top 4 teams consecutively, one in Melbourne. You go on to say Carlton are overrated also so clearly you don't think they're top four either? Exactly who do you have in your top 4?

I have no problem with people not rating us but try not to spew.

Seems to be a bit of a myth running around with injuries for the pies.

Hawks have had it very bad this year but pies havent gone great either. We had 3 players with a total of 6 games between them run out against the roos.

No Eagles' supporters think that we are anywhere near Collingwood either, so that point is mute.

yet another Bigfootyism that's creeping in, much like the chronic tendency for some to inexplicably use just "bias" when they should be using "biased".

It's MOOT point. Not mute :eek: English, it's real hard...

Learnt absolutely nothing from Round 16.

In fact, throughout the entire season, occasionally I thought I had learnt a few things only to find out I was misled a few weeks later. The only thing I've learnt from the entire season is that West Coast are the real deal.

- Having the bye sucks but gives you the chance to rest and relax
- That I may as well give up the remainder of the year as Collingwood are on track for back to back
- That Freo are very much the most vulnerable of all teams in the 8 to fall out owing to not having put out best 22 all year not to mention the charge home by St Kilda and the Dogs
- That West Coast are very much the real deal this year (amazing what a good injury run does not to mention an exceptional press)
- That it'll be an all-Victorian GF again and another round of frustration for me

1. Brad Scott should keep his mouth shut.
2. North Melbourne have improved this year, but so has Collingwood, and they are improving at a greater rate. Scary.

Nothing sticks out this week.

But overall, people have to start looking past a w/l ratio or ladder position.

Been saying for ages, Geelong's form has hardly as great its spot on the ladder indicates.

Carlton may be sitting top 4, but that is on the back of beating only one top 8 team this season. Very iffy formguide, and will not finish top 4. Need to seriously fast track structure while they have Judd, time is running out faster than they realise.

West Coast are the only half threat to Collingwood. They are more than a laughable chance to finish top 2, and a GF spot is theirs.

I'd say Geelong would still be a bigger threat to Collingwood than West Coast, especially in Melbourne. If the Grand Final was played at Subiaco then maybe West Coast would be a bigger threat.

In fact I'd say Hawthorn, Carlton and even St Kilda would be a bigger threat to Collingwood in Melbourne than West Coast would be.

Many supporters of sides that are around the same level as us are really enjoying the chance to sink the slippers into the tiges. We were always going to fall over at some stage this season considering the ave games / age of our list.

We are tracking in the right direction and some of the comments in this thread are completely ridiculous.

PS: Have a good finals compaign Essendon lol.

Hope you bought yourself plenty of tissue boxes. Look at the pounding Essendon got a few weeks ago etc....Geez, have a cry because the poor old tiggies is the only club to cop it around here...

Wake up princess and dry those eyes.

p.s. At least we have a chance of making finals at this stage. lol....

1. I fill happy for a Monday morning...oh wait that's coz Melbourne didn't play and couldn't disappoint me :)

2. Carlton supporters are ...relax you will make top 4.

3. Collingwood will go back-to-back :(

4. Kangas and Port are a nothing footy clubs (sorry)

5. Sam Mitchell should be the 2011 Brownlow medallist but won't which means Judas sorry I mean Judd will win it again :(

I've learned that these threads run on two-week cycles. Everything learnt two weeks ago is re cycled. E.g. West Coast we're the real deal two weeks ago, now they're the real deal again. Likewise for Carlton, they 'on the way out of the 4' two weeks ago, came back, now gone again, apparently.
