Couple of people I know have lost their jobs for "borrowing" stuff from work. In saying that, this particular company was looking for ways to save on redundancy payouts and used any opportunity they could to get rid of workers. "You can resign or we can make it a police matter"

I work as a consultant and worked at one client site and heard about this one guy that was so dodgy and hopeless. He was sick for ages and even took time off cos he had "malaria". Was constantly on his phone and ended up resigning during his sick leave.

I was then at another client site and heard he had applied for a job there, and used the first client site as a reference. They gave the potential employer the whole story and that was his application in the bin.

In his LinkedIn though, he wrote about himself like he did all the work.
