Passwords can GAGF. I’ve got about 50 passwords I need in my life and I lose my shit 5-10 times per week when I have to look one up because I haven’t updated it in password manager or similar ****head program that’s supposed to help your day to day life
Wait till your phone bricks itself because of an app and you have to factory reset

I only change passwords when forced, like if threatened with lockout due to an upgraded site or something, eg my local library. I also used the same password for everything at first (got my first computer in 1998) and a few of them survive to this day.

I do have a little book to keep passwords in, couldn’t possibly rely on memory. Especially for some sites that I may not visit often.

Google password manager is my life.

I had a password program on my work computer. Then I forgot the password for it

I have the same password for everything
Well the first 6 characters are the same (combo of upper case lower case, a number and a special character) and then the last character is the first letter of the place
So as an example

AbCd1$W
Would be westpac
AbCd1$B
Would be bigfooty

I haven’t yet had the issue of two places with same first letter for final entry

Having the same password for everything is fine until the first one that needs something different.

First "password" was OK for all. Then one had to be Password. And then Password1. And then Password1#. And eventually you go to login to that obscure thing once a year and have to ask to reset the password anyway because you can't remember which combination it required.

My pin is still the same one that Westpac gave me in the 80s.
I had the same one from CBA from the start until I left in 2000. I then joined Bank of America and used it with them. When I returned to Melbourne in 2017 I joined Westpac and have used the same old CBA number since.

I still use my two AOL email addresses that I set up in 2000.
