Rejecting a job offer and then having the recruiter call straight away to see what they can do. Not a done deal yet but I'm not usually really comfortable with negotiation so was happy I backed myself.

They low ball you hoping you'll be desperate and just agree. It's shit. They did it to my wife and she said ahh no that's not what was mentioned as a guideline in the interview. So they came back an hour later with an extra $20-30k but by then she'd already gotten so annoyed she told them to GAGF.

That's where it should have been to begin with instead of playing games. If you have found your candidate why risk losing them Ffs. Now they have to go through all that process again and have to take second best.

I kind of have been given the upper hand. I know they've been looking since July, have no other candidates and have already invested a lot in interviewing and testing me. Plus, the 3rd party that gave me a couple of tests told me they've been told to put a rush on it. It's annoying waiting for them to agree to terms but I'm not settling.
