Part 6 is over there:

Plus you don't need to do it often. Clothes are resource intensive so shouldn't be thrown away after 2 or 3 wears.
I think for some women it's a want more than a need.

These videos of this American woman are on my FB feed. She went on a trip to Europe and it seemed basically all she did was shop. To each their own but to me it's a huge waste of money and time.

Cut a little hole in the side :)
With your mate underneath in his swag. We used swags for years just rolled out on the ground but as Ive turned into a middle aged senior citizen i use a stretcher bed underneath which is comfy as for camping. All depends on where you're going and room available i guess. We've got an offroad camper we take on family outings now and id prefer swagging it TBH. Evidently with my snoring my wife and kids do too

I can't believe Harris Scarfe is still a thing. Shut up shop in WA years ago then apparently tried to relaunch two stores before the last closure in 2020.

Usually we are where retail stores go to die. Hence Blockbuster and Sanity were still going here until the 2020s.

I've got a 20+yr old shirt that still gets worn on occasions - I lived on campus for a few years at uni, and trying to create some intra-college competition between the different floors, they identifed us with different names & colours that were then identifed via t-shirts

I wouldn't wear it out of the house, but it's a good option for cleaning, gardening etc as there's no holes or rips; wouldn't feel right to unnecessarily turf it

I have my Year 12 jumper up in my cupboard, it’s 35 years old

I remember when I went to Europe the first time and my cousin who would've been about 19 or 20 asked me about the shopping. I was like I am 25 and was taking trains and buses around carrying a backpack, you think I'm hanging out at Harrods and Le Bon Marche?

I've got a few things that are getting pretty old now. Bought a North Face jacket in London in 2010 because I was heading up to Norway. I think was just over 100 squid at the time and is still going strong having survived a bunch of ski trips.

Pretty sure I have my high school leavers jumper somewhere too. Not that it it's in the regular rotation but still in a drawer after 5 closer to 25 years.

Americans spend soo much on vanity

I can remember reading from an American who lived in NY was having a friend visit during winter, and the friend sent through a few photos of clothing they were going bring to wear in the cold

The American essentially just laughed saying, "you're not coming here for a fashion show, those items will be useless" - the best advice was, dress for the weather and not the looks

Harris Scarfe are my go. K-Mart too. Love cheap Everlast stuff

Got a really cool pair of Everlast shorts in the early 2010s, silky (like boxer shorts) material on the outside, but fluffy and comfortable on the inside. Came with zip pockets - black with gold everlast writing. Best shorts I've ever had!!

Harris Scarfe been done up from my last visit there.

Uses to go to HS quite a lot, stopping shopping there as they kept disappearing... but would end up coming back (sometimes moving back to a previous location they used to be at years prior). I've only popped in there in recent years to buy a new pillow (only place that has the one I like.... it's neatly been 2 years so probably time to update again).

I like Myer. Multiple brands in one location, usually good sales on.

That said I like going there once or twice a year. People who go clothes shopping every other week need their heads read.

I'm a Rebel Sport clothing shopper/dresser. Nike/Adidas/Under Armor polo shirts/shorts/shoes FTW. More of a fan of golf and tennis polo shirts (some plain, some borderline Hawaiian style lol), good for casual out and about wear.

A lot of my purchases from the last 3 years have come from golfbox (cool golf related website, some good deals where the clothing can be cheaper than in store prices).

I tend to have some older shirts (5-10 years old) that aren't worn often but still in great condition considering their age, hence why they don't leave my collection. Otherwise most are in 2-3 year cycles.

I've rotated many styles in and out periodically. I find if holes develop (clothing more cheapily made today), they're usually on the shoulder.

Similar to my socks and underwear philosophy I have more than I really need.... But still have handy in case there's a situation (washing machine breaks ? have several weeks worth of clothing ready to wear!).

Re Clothes.

I get things from all different places .

I did a George (Seinfeld) at rebel they marked down a adidas jacket I wanted.
So I hide it and came back the next day to buy it.
I’ve done that! 🤣

Alot of girls and woman have fake lashes etc.

It's over the top in the states.
I read an article in the Oz this week about a woman (American) who decided she needed to save money so added up everything she spent on hair, nails, eyebrows and lashes, it came to over $400 a month.
